Title: Census update
Post by: jinxmchue on April 01, 2010, 12:39:45 PM
The census bureau called and they ain't happy. I tried to tell them I was exercising our right to privacy. They cited the U.S. Code laws about filing out the census. I tried to tell them that the U.S. Code is lesser law than the Constitution, but unfortunately, I got mad and told them, "If you want the information so bad, come arrest me!" I then hung up. We'll see what happens now.

$100.00 fine at worse IAW USC Title 13 section 221

According to them, it was $100 per unanswered question plus possible jail time.

I'd make them show me that one...

Got another form in the mail today. That's what I get for slacking and mailing my first one out on Tuesday.

I got another one yesterday, and the completed one is on my table.  I forgot to mail it.

That is NOT what the code actually states.  They are trying to intimidate you.

Still seems like pointless obstinacy that's just running up the tax bill for the whole operation.  The sooner they're done the sooner they cut loose all the temp employees they hired.  I guess you are helping out employment in the Oconomy, though.

I will answer the question that pertains to how many live here.

No more no less.

The rest is quite frankly none of their damn business.

By law, that is all that is required, at least according to Judge Napolitano on Fox this morning.

You know, I haven't yet received a form to fill out.

Some weeks ago, I got notification that a form to fill out was coming soon in the mail, but that was, like, in February.

And no form to fill out yet.

One wonders if il Duce Bo doesn't want to count Republicans in the Sandhills of Nebraska.

Well we got a notice awhile ago that we would be *getting* a census form.

Then we *got the census form* and I filled ours out and returned it the next day.

Today we *got* a reminder to fill out another enclosed form and return it in another enclosed postage-paid envelope, if we had not done so.

Now, how much wasted manpower, paper and postage is *that* costing all of us,  I wonder...  It was probably cheaper 10 years ago when they just sent a census taker directly the first time.  As I recall, there were many, many more questions last time.

We got two notices on the same day announcing we would be getting the census in a few days then we received two census forms.  We also got a post card telling us the census was "due soon" a few days ago.  The government wastes so much money.
