Title: Arizona Rancher's Killing Sparks Calls to Beef Up Border Security
Post by: tuolumnejim on April 01, 2010, 12:10:39 PM
I'm surprised this wasn't posted before, and I see a lot of pissed off Az. ranchers just shooting all the illegals they find.

Three members of New Mexico's congressional delegation have asked for an increase in the Border Patrol's presence, and former Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo called on Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to dispatch the National Guard to the Arizona border

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano is under pressure to beef up border security in the Southwest in the wake of Saturday's killing of a rancher in southeastern Arizona.

Three members of New Mexico's congressional delegation have asked for an increase in the Border Patrol's presence in the Boot Heel of New Mexico, about 10 miles from where the rancher was shot to death over the weekend. U.S. Sens. Jeff Bingaman and Tom Udall, along with Rep. Harry Teague, say Napolitano's agency needs to take more security steps.

And former Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo, an outspoken opponent of illegal immigration, called on Napolitano to "reject politics and do the right thing" by dispatching the National Guard to the Arizona border.

Cochise County Sheriff's Office deputies and detectives responded to an area northeast of Douglas on Saturday after searchers found the body of 58-year-old Robert Krentz inside his all terrain vehicle on his property. Detectives were able to determine that Krentz apparently came upon one person when he was fatally shot and his dog was wounded.

Is the Governor too scared to do it?

She said that they don't have the money, but it is also the federal governments responsibility. This administration is soft on illegals, just look at how they have fought against sheriff Joe trying to enforce laws.

I just saw on Fox that New Mexico's Governor Richardson dispatched his NG troops to the border, I'm not sure about Az.

More links to other articles here (http://www.foxnews.com/search-results/search?q=Krentz).

Well Arizona did sell their state Capitol and rent it back.

Johnny McLame is now switching his stance and is saying that the military should be protecting our boarders. What a lame ass excuse for a republican.
Don't get me wrong I do highly respect the man for his past as a POW. But that has nothing to do with being a member of the GOP party and being a conservative. McLame must go along with the rest of the RINOS.

I don't think we can secure that border.  Not completely.  But, dang, there's no reason we can't slow the flow pretty good.

Those 2 train robberies in NORTHERN Arizona should tell us how much of our country we could lose if we don't step it up.

One would hope so.  But Texas hasn't been fighting back too hard so far.

Texans really haven't been "poked in the eye" by the Reconquista bastards.  Yet.  When that happens, I forsee visions of a steamroller rolling over the Reconquistas completely at odds with the gentlemanly response they've received from Texans thus far.

I hope to hell so.

But time will tell.
