Just got home after eight hours overtime, had a shower, and now a cup or two of coffee, before getting some sleep. Supposed to be sunny and mid 60's today, and I'm gonna sleep through most of it. :censored:
-
Didn't sleep much last night/ this morning. Into bed at 0200 and up at 0600. That ain't enough sleep for us geezers. Today is supposed to be almost 80° & sunny. Looking outside, it has a beautiful start. With a beautiful day on hand, I'll wind up spending a good couple of hours, or more, at the VFW, doing some accounting and figuring out why our canteen seems to be low on money for the deposit. At least I got the Windows 7 communications problems resolved between my two PCs with the new OS on them. It won't be long before I know W7 like the back of my hand.

So, you like the W7 over the Vista? Bought a new laptop last October, it has Vista installed.... :puke: but I qualified for a free W7 upgrade, which I have, but have been entirely too unmotivated to install.
Sunny day here, but also working, so meh.

From what I've heard, upgrading to W& would be worth it . It seems to be faster than Vista.

I like Windows 7, and I'm one of three people worldwide that never had a problem running Vista.
Supposed to be 80 and sunny today. Classes all day, then a relaxing evening. I'm sure there's some homework I could do, but it can wait for this weekend.

My main problem with Vista was the security permission settings. Once those were straightened out, it wasn't bad.

Don't know about the W7 v. Vista thing. Oh well . . .
Got a touch of bronchitis going on. Which ordinarily wouldn't be too much of a problem, except that I can't breathe worth a damn, my voice is shot, and it's Holy Week. Tonight is the only night my choir has off. Got to my MD yesterday, and he gave me an antibiotic which is a step up from Zithromax (which knocks out sinus issues alright, but not so good on upper respitory stuff). It's raining and mid-40s today here. Gotta go get some Easter candy for The Heiress in a bit, from the drugstore in downtown Albany. Thinking about some Reese's stuff.
-
Highs in the lower 80's today. Going to shoot a round of golf with a couple buds here in a bit.
-
Got back from the doctor's office. I had to have some pigment lazered into my eye (I have no idea what that means). It hurts.
Anyway, I'm home for the rest of the day.,
-
Chris...hope your eye gets to feeling better soon. Did you lose some of the color in your iris when you had the surgery? Maybe they are trying to get both your irises closer to the same.
More cloudy than sunny here, but it's 52 heading up to mid 60's. Supposed to be in the mid 70's rest of the week.
Finally, FINALLY ...have all my reports caught up and finished!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: Hopefully, before I get any more they will have all their glitches straightened out. Two weeks and counting and they still aren't fixed. One of the tech people that I talked to in the last week or so, said they knew they were going to have problems, but had no idea they would be to this extent. Aren't IT people supposed to know this stuff ahead of time?
Also seem to be FINALLY getting over the intestinal crud. I rarely get the nasty bugs, primarily because I work from home and out in the public on the weekends. It's totally destroyed my appetite....have lost about 8pounds so far. :-) Must be getting obvious, cause my son commented on it last night....that or he was sucking up for something... :lmao:

That is was the doctor said. It was only a little, just a few degrees. The laser procedure didn't take long... five minutes at the most.
I took some ibuprofen because it's all I have right now.

Maybe put some ice in a baggie and wrap it in a thin towel and hold it to your eye for short periods?
Personally, I prefer real warm washcloths, but I think the cold is probably more correct.

I took a short nap... I feel much better now.
Time to hit the hardware store and then some lunch.

W7 uses processor time and memory much more efficiently than XP or Vista. I have a laptop at the VFW that I use that runs Vista. Since it only access the internet and I use it to generate reports, it hasn't been any problem. I'm running W7 on two PCs with a 1.4 GHZ Athlon processor, 2 and 3 GB RAM, respectively and various hard drives in each. I was really multitasking early this morning. I was installing Office from another PC, moving files (massive amounts of mp3s) and listening to music. I had a couple of glitches, (the songs would pause momentarily), but that would have certainly locked up on XP. Other than the networking BS, I really LIKE W7. I'd recommend the "upgrade" to it. I would also recommend a clean install, vs an upgrade type of deal.

Thanks. That was what BF was going to do, which requires me to go through all my stuff, and save what I need, and even though there isn't much, it is still a PITA. At any rate, although he recommended I go to W7, he doesn't have a good point of reference, being a linux dude, so I wanted another opinion.

Since you are going to be backing stuff up, I assume that you are doing a "clean install" and not an overwrite? That would be the best way to go.

Uh yeah. There is the "easy way" and then there is the "right way." I have to do things the right way. :whatever:
