So I am being told that the new HCR bill is already costing companies more money
Is that accurate?

either, or you would get a real answer.

35. That was a damn fine answer to your question!
WTF are you railing against here?
Sub had it right... tell whomever it is that's feeding you this bullshit to back it up with some proof. What the **** is wrong with that?

41. Gee, I guess you don't want to know anything about the issues so you can discuss it
and the reasons why it is or isn't a good thing
You think that was a fine answer, that is the way to influence people.

45. What the **** is wrong with asking them to back up their bullshit and if they can't,
telling them to STFU and stop spreading baseless rumors? [/quote]

48. Well my friend, these baseless rumors are out on most of the news outlets
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100326/ap_on_hi_te/us_tec_...
and you may or may not agree with the content of those baseless stories, but if you can't even hold a civil discussion, have a good day

44. My comment was not directed at you. I was merely saying that if someone
is telling you this, make them show you some kind of proof. And, if they cannot show you proof, tell them to STFU.
How is that a wise ass remark?

49. I wasn't sure. Anyone telling an associate to STFU is not going to influence them
especially when you are trying to convience them NOT to believe what they read

All I am looking for is a valid disucsssion, i.e. This is a loop-hole that has been closed, it won't take effect immedately, and by that time....
or it is a misrepresentation of the plan
I am pretty sure this will be plastered by our "friends" at the MSM next week since some major corporations are complaining
Thanks for the clarification

I am trying to get some information here to speak intelligently
That ain't gonna happen.

23. In what way? Are they being fined? Who are these People you spoke to.
I was the CEO for a national company. I knew everything that was going on but most of our directors were clueless about specifics unless it was related to their divisions. Do they really know anything?
Sure you were. However it was the CEOs of these companies making the reports. They are required to do so under SEC rules. You would know that if you had been a CEO.
-
Companies making SEC-mandated disclosures are now "baseless rumors"?/

When they hurt the plans of Teh Wun, then yes, they are.
-
And of course, should said company criticize "Teh Wun", they get their asses dragged to stare at Congressman Pig-Nose himself, and be lectured by people who can't run pantyhose on how to run multi-billion dollar businesses.
-
Wonder if Obama will promise those companies that premiums will go down 3000% :lmao:
-
Hey DUmmies. How's that hope and change thing workin' out for ya when companies start cutting off your health insurance because it's cheaper to pay Obammy's fine than to offer health insurance. And good luck in the ER because Doctors are leaving the profession. :lmao:

6. Well, it'll be a small snowball - it was $150M cost increase against $1.5B quarterly revenue
That is how the Press Release blurb read, a hundred fifty million cost increase against a one point five billion dollar quarterly revenue. So the increase is basically insignificant.
Send me 10% of your welfare check every month and tell me that it's insignificant.

14. Any change is significant to them... and I'm sure 10% is enough
to get them to make cuts, 10% is not insignificant to the stock holders, hhhmmm, but they are buying stocks on the word that the health coverage will be changed....

18. 10% is barely significant?
Edited on Sun Mar-28-10 01:14 PM by Statistical
If you income declined 10% would you say it is insignificant?
Now I am not trying for them. For the system to be fair more people & companies will need to pay more however to say a 10% charge is insignificant is silly.

8. It's only a tax loop hole they can longer take.
They were, and still are, getting a subsidy from our tax dollars and then turning around and deducting that subsidy (our tax dollars) from their taxes. Just a minor reduction in welfare for corporations, Nothing More.
Don't worry, we poor will still be subsidizing John Deer's profits.
No, you :censored: idiot, it was a tax incentive to get them to continue covering retirees. Take away that incentive and what happens?
Why do these idiots all believe money belongs to the government.

10% of revenue, not profits.
That is a HUGE hit.

They don't live in reality so it doesn't even register. It's like when the Aztecs first saw men riding horses they thought they were seeing some sort of man-deer hybrid or the European shipts as giant floating mountains. In essence, DUmmie Land is a cargo cult.

Yeah right, a DUmmy was actually the CEO of a national company.... :rotf:

So, Obama wants to cover 10% more people in the USA, and its costing businesses 10% more -- Id say there is no actual magic nor mathematical ingenuity involved to understand the correlation..
-
10% of revenue, not profits.

Shhhh...it's basic economics math. Math to DUmmys is wizardry the likes of which are only seen in Harry Potter films.

Yep. If not outright send them negative, it's going to leave very little.

Now now now. DUmmie was CEO of Walkawaywithyourmoney101 at the eBay for 3 whole weeks before they locked his account for screwing up the math on .01 + 4.99 shipping. :hyper:

I'm sure the DUmmies will all understand when the organic grocer charges more for produce because the farmer he gets it from has to charge more to pay for a new John Deere tractor....
Or not.... :hammer:

I was the CEO for a national company.
Translation: When I was 8 years old, I owned a lemonade stand. Two legs of the card table were in NY, and the other two were in CT. It went belly up when my hippie mom made me give it away for free.
Anyway, you see where Nosrilitis is demanding these CEOs come to Washington to 'splain these charge offs? I say "bring it on." I'm sure these numbers can be substantiated quite reasonably. Shine some badly needed light on the whole sordid mess so graciously given to us by the demos.
And these DUmmies above crack me up. Letting fly with a whole bunch of F bombs when someone else asks you about this subject is no way to gain credibility for oneself or ones party or ideology. Numbnuts.

86. Well
The key thing with these guys is how to read financial statements. Luckily, I am trained accountant so this stuff is English for me.
On AT&T, went to a website and no results.
Clear as mud, there, Pedro. Thanks for the insight, always grateful for a professional accountant.

That DUmmy's English skills remind me of a Nigerian prince who once asked me for help in moving some money to this country.

Sure he/she/it was! I believe it was the "Mobile Doggy Doo Doo Clean Up Service, Corp."
Of course there are only two employees, "it" being the CEO, and the VP was picking up said product.
