I can't stand my f**king right winged family!
My sister in law wrote this on her FB Wall - "A question: If Obamacare is so wonderful, why have Obama and his staff exempted themselves from it? If it is good enough for the rest of us, why not for them?"
So there a couple posts and one where a friend of hers said that media matters said it was a mistake saying that congress would get different care than the rest of us to which she responded something about "learning more about the matter" blah blah blah.
So I wrote a very nice, cogent reply explaining that it is not a health care bill that they voted on or that even exists but it is a series of health reforms. I did say that the Democrats were mad because we lost the Public Option and were calling the president a corporatist while the Republicans we mad and calling him a socialist, (I think the irony is interesting)
I then explained some examples, like keeping children on their parents until they are 26 etc and I ended it nicely.
I went to check if anyone had responded and the bitch DELETED MY POST!
I swear I do not think these people want to be informed. I believe they want to stay in their mis-informed egotistical sanctimonious ignorance because it makes them able to feel superior. If they actually knew about the issues they would feel like complete dumb-asses!
I wrote another post and asked her if she deleted my first post and why? I was not mean spirited. I saved that for here at good ol DU.
They seem to be in quite a snit today on the island.

1. You have my sympathies
Thankfully none of my family has drunk the kool-aid, other than my brother's brief one-time wasted vote for Rayguns which caused me to call him a fascist for four years until he redeemed himself and voted again Saint Ronnie in '84.
:rotf:

2. I love my sister dearly and she is as RW as they come. I deleted my FB account...
because I got sick of all the misinformed crap she was posting among other reasons that I rather not go into.
Best thing I ever did. If I hadn't, I don't think her and I would be talking now.

5. You should not put up with red necked family members
Edited on Sat Mar-27-10 01:04 AM by hatesthegop
That happened when I first got married and my wife's family loved Reagan...we haven't talked to them in 29 years...that includes the birth of our two children, the marriage of our son, and the death of my father in law...**** anybody who is a red neck I have no use for them...
You are just trying way too hard to get cred.

9. having too much fun being mad.
And if they were to accept that they were wrong their whole world view could come crashing down. Easier to stay delusional. Their team, right or wrong and hate the other side is the way to go.
The irony meter could be used as a fan on that one.

So.... when the DUmmies look at their paycheck and see that $150-$240 a month is being removed for "long term care".... and that their rents are going up.....
I guess they'll be happy.
lol.

I think my half-sis is kinda pissed at me on FB. She posted something about turning off the lights for Erf Day, and right after that I posted my own comment about turning on everything, starting the BBQ with a used tire, and marinating the spotted owl.
Something tells me she wasn't amused.

What they can't stand....is being wrong all the time. Well, why isn't Obamacare good enough for our lawmakers ?

So I wrote a very nice, cogent reply
Yeah, right! :whatever:
I'm betting the SIL had to clean her screen from all the spit from her rant and the cuss words this primitive posted.

Some of these people actually have jobs, as shocking as that is, and pay rent, those people are going to be getting reamed very soon. That $150 to $240 a month "long term care" tax is going to bring them screaming as soon as they start taking it from their checks. Plus the higher rents and there will be tears. Lots of sweet, yummy tears.

Shows Federal employee cost for surgery under available plans. Anyone else have a $300 annual deductable?
Members of Congress receive retirement and health benefits under the same plans available to other federal employees. They become vested after five years of full participation.
Members elected since 1984 are covered by the Federal Employees' Retirement System (FERS). Those elected prior to 1984 were covered by the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS). In 1984 all members were given the option of remaining with CSRS or switching to FERS.

Even though they prefer to suck the brains out of any "unwanted" offspring, yes.

Nukes are considered "base load". They ALWAYS run at 100 percent, unless there's a problem.

See, I use the same type of lines. Next time, throw some Styrofoam on there...adds a nice char to the spotted owl ribs...

It’s pretty unbelievable that the President and his closest advisors remain untouched by the reforms they pushed for the rest of the country. In other words, President Obama’s health care reform won’t apply to President Obama,†Grassley said. “Last December, the effort to apply any new law to administration political leaders was rejected by the Senate Majority Leader. But there’s no justification for the double standard, and I’ll continue to work to establish fairness.â€
The Senate legislation passed last night by the House of Representatives includes an amendment Grassley sponsored and got adopted by the Finance Committee last fall to have members of Congress and their staffs get their health insurance through the same health insurance exchanges where health plans for the general public would be available. During the closed-door negotiations on the bill late last year, the Senate Majority Leader carved out Senate committee and leadership staff from this requirement.
Subsequently, Grassley and Senator Tom Coburn attempted to offer another amendment to restore the requirement during Senate debate on the health care bill, but the Senate Majority Leader would not let their amendment to fix this loophole even come up for a vote. In addition to Senate committee and leadership staff, the amendment Grassley and Coburn filed during the Senate debate would have made the President, the Vice President, top White House staff and cabinet members all get their health insurance through the newly created exchanges. It would not have applied to federal employees in the civil service.
Grassley said, “It’s only fair and logical that top administration officials, who fought so hard for passage of this overhaul of America’s health care system, experience it themselves. If it’s as good as promised, they’ll know it first-hand. If there are problems, they’ll be able to really understand them, as they should.â€

HA..... :-)
I'd bet you $100 she never said anything remotely like that to their face. She probably posted something like "why is everyone saying hateful things about Obama?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!" on her facebook and it has now morphed into.... "You uninformed ignorant hateful sheep! **** off!!"
