Marine General: Gays Will Be Segregated if DADT is Repealed
Marine general: Gays would get their own rooms
By ANNE FLAHERTY
Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON - The Marine Corps' commandant said he won't force his troops to bunk with gays
on base and would give them separate rooms if Congress votes to allow openly gay service.
The comment, by Gen. James Conway, is the latest pushback by a small but vocal faction
of senior military leaders opposed to a repeal of the 1993 law known as "don't ask, don't tell."
(snip)
Conway, a known opponent of repealing the law, suggested in an interview published Friday
by Military.com that he already knows it would be a logistical hurdle. On base, Marines
typically bunk two-to-a-room.
"I would not ask our Marines to live with someone who is homosexual if we can possibly
avoid it," he said.

And so the segregation talk begins. Because, you know, it's always worked out so WELL for us before. *sigh*

Separating gays from straight men is no different than than keeping hetero men and women separate in the same situation. I look at it this way. It is providing a layer of safety for those gays that can't keep their eyes off mens peckers.

1. You're dismissed, Gen. Conway.
Thank you for your service.
We're movin' on.
Shouldn't that be "You're dithmithed, General". ? :-)

4. That would make my day, oh yes indeed.
Let's just hope that nobody decides that segregation is a good bipartisan compromise. Ugh.

6. We sure as hell don't need his service.
If that is the best the Marines have we would be better off. But, I'm sure there are many many good Marines that consider their service to country primary over any discrimination.
Yeah, we need someone like Richard Simmons in his place.

3. will he disregard a direct order from the CIC? n if he does will the CIC do anything bout it ? nt
We know that 0Bowma shows obeisance to our enemies, but he has no trouble throwing allies under the bus, so a military member would be no problem.
Lots of big talk from mostly civilian wankers.

Yeah, I want to see this DUmb**** . . .

I want to see that DUmb**** go up to a "garden-variety" Marine and try that. Methinks that said DUmb**** would get a beating he'd never forget.

Big talk from soft liberals sitting at a keyboard in their Momma's basement. Put on a uniform and serve, otherwise you can STFU.
-
New Marine motto.
SIMPLY NO
Well, hell, somebody has got to take a stand. Who better than the Marines.
If Obama dismisses him from the Marines....can he then slap hell outta the stupid MoFo...it's one civilian slapping another civilian...simple assault case in my book.

Better compromise than gays suddenly suffering from an epidemic of falling down the stairs.

One would hope that an openly queer recruit would not survive Parris Island.

Someone needs to throat punch this idiot.

I was refraining from saying the same thing.
Furthermore, if gays can serve openly, does this mean their "partners" are entitled to the same benefits that married straight Marines' wives are?
That's just a bigger tax burden on the system.
I can't speak for the other Branches, but openly gay men in the Marines will be a disaster.

Maybe we need a new branch of the military that is more friendly to democrats. Maybe the U.S. Buggery Corps. They could be in charge of defending San Francisco.

Shouldn't gay men be separated from gay men?

Shouldn't gay men be separated from gay men?
No. It's one way to reduce their ranks. Literally.
-
I was going to suggest letting them bunk with the B.A.M.s (Broad-Assed Marines), then I figured a lot of straight guys might claim to be gay just to get into the wimmins' barracks. :-)

No matter how this keeps playing out one side will lose. It looks like the usual DUmmy way of thinking that its all about hatin on the Gays when it just as rightfully so would be for their protection.
I know of one story told to me about how a marine was found dead after he went over board from the USS America after his fellow Marines found out he was gay. Then there is the murder of one soldier at Ft. Campbell, KY years ago when two idiots beat a guy to death just because they thought he was gay . There are probably as many kinds of stories like this as one can imagine. IF one needs to look at how well letting gays openly serve works then look at most of the NATO allies and see how they are doing in regards to their own military moral and while your at it think of this. If one of those Al Quida types find out they have a gay man or woman as a prisoner what do you think their chances are of NOT coming back alive are?

ummm, those chances are pretty much the same whether they're straight or gay.
I have known two gay Soldiers in my time in. One was booted for being gay, then would come on base and bring pot to his friends who were still in, the other was HIV+ and last I knew was under confinement for attempted murder since he gave it to a 15 yo boy. Also, there are stories of other gay Soldiers, one was a LTC who looked up gay porn on his gov't computer during deployment. Not real good poster children for "good order and discipline"

That same exuberance is not displayed when someone misses movement when their unit deploys to Afghanistan or Iraq
