Dems should remove mandates from HCR

This would be a win all the way around. After the Reconciliation bill goes through.

Republicans first promoted this idea. It was put in to get their support (the Health Insurance Industry) and it has stayed in. Now Republicans say it is a bad idea and their AGs are suing saying its unconstitutional - it's not -

By taking it out, they are doing something that would
1. be bipartisan
2. embarass the Republicans because they would either have to go along with the Dems (which would prompt massive Republican Reflux) OR oppose it and look like fools (ok, they already look like fools, but they would look like bigger fools

3. it would be a step toward mollifying the farther left of the Democratic Party. who oppose mandates

DUmmies are stoopid.  This is no longer a bill, it is a law. They would have to pass a new law specifically overturning that part of the bill.  They'd never get the votes to do it now.

1. It would go a long way at reducing the animosity

toward it, in my opinion.

No, it wouldn't.

Republicans are contrarians. They'd oppose the end to mandates if Obama supported it.

The Dims put it there, it's their baby.

Take it away?  The whole point of obamacare was "Do you have a body?  Then you have to insure it."  Now they want to take away the provision that's the foundation of the whole law.

What a bunch of idiots.   :rotf:

31. I know. What I meant is because this is "private" insurance the mandate is what is paying for the "private" insurance. People get subsidies that will benefit those companies. Allegedly the subsidies are to purchse (sic) insurance that will entitle people to health care. That is why they won't repeal the mandate. It is the corner stone.

Wow!  Even tinkerbelle gets it, and he's a top-notch dolt.

They are all trying to wrap their tiny minds around health stocks soaring after a bill that was supposed to beat them to an oblivion passed.

Sorry primitives - the only clinking glasses I hear are coming from Connecticut - the insurance capitol of the United States. Your bill doesn't give ponies to anyone - it demands that everyone buy their own pony, and help pay for ponies for others.

This is the very reason I'm very proud that not a single republican voted for this piece of shit legislation.  They will NEVER be able to say it was anyone's fault except the democrats.  The more they dig, the worse this will look to them.  They are soon going to learn just how screwed we ALL are because of THEIR candidates and there isn't any taking that shit back.

THEY OWN THIS SHIT!!

So when their Medicare withholdings and rent go up... who will they blame?

Some how, some way when the Obama hell-care fails you just know it was because of the evil rethuglicans that were shut out of crafting the fine bill.

They sure have latched onto that idea that the mandates are Republican, haven't they?  Somebody over there made it up, posted it, and they all ran with it like lemmings.  I have to wonder, is there ever a time when a little light glimmers in their empty gourds, saying "you could be wrong about this."

No.

I'm not a vindictive person, but I can't help but feel a little glee at the prospect of sending out the rental increase letters, pinning it on this bill.  Jukin & TVDOC and I were talking about it on another thread.  It hits home, (pun intended), it's personal, and it's immediate.  Ouch.  Consequences and all that.  As a matter of fact, the whole country's pissed off now, saying to themselves, "I'm not going to eat that."  So then they scheme on how to pass shit along.  Who does it hit?  The end of the food chain.  The DUmmies.  Suck it, DUmmies.
