Films teach us many useful things: that anybody can achieve their dream if they truly believe; that you can survive any explosion, no matter how large or close, by jumping into water; and that bad people usually have British accents.
But probably the most important lesson to take away from the cinema is that mirrors with hinges are demon-haunted panels of doom, and moving them back and forth is the surest possible way to SUMMON THE MONSTERS.
