they are truly the PARTY OF NOTHING.

So when the repukes have power again and not one single dem votes for their bills can we call the dems the party of nothing?
The republicans stood together and did the right thing this time. I just hope its a growing trend.

2. Which is weird, because this was essentially THEIR bill
They hammered Congress and vowed they wouldn't vote for the bill unless all these compromises were made, and they didn't vote for it, anyway.
President Obama should be eating some serious crow this morning over his stubborn quest for bipartisanship.
More of the meme that this is all the fault of the GOP. When the dems wrote it and passed it.
-
So Obama's gonna eat crow.......light or dark meat? :-)
-
Depending on which poll one looks at, anywhere between 55% and 85% of the population of the US did NOT want this bill. So much for democracy or representation. Fact is: 0bama BRIBED several of the Dimwits that voted FOR this bill and those that voted for it don't have the backbone to stand up against tyranny.
-
If there was any bipartisanship here, it was in opposition to this atrocity. The only way this thing even had a chance was because of all the bribes, kickbacks, threats, backroom deals, and outright extortion...and those of the things we know about.

Oh a lot more will come it and the GOP plans on being very vocal about it.
-
We aren't the Party of Socialism, DUmbasses, you are. The Stupid Party isn't that stupid.

As there has been on EVERY SINGLE BILL passed under Obama.
Lots of bi-partisanship... just against the great young smarterest precident evah !!!1111!!1!!eleventy

This is killing every Dem I know. They are terrified this is going to suck and suck HUGE and they have no fingers to point. Not one. They are trying to do damage control as quickly as they can but it's too late. They are all going to be fired.

That's the reason of this thread. They just want cover in case when it fails. They have majorities in both Houses, so why should they care how many republicans vote for this or any bill?

Because without RINOs "reaching across the aisle", the Marxist party has NO political cover in the mid-terms.
Rush is discussing RINOs who are now on record - after the fact - saying, "This could be workable, if"...
Any asshat who lets something that stupid slip out of their piehole, needs to join their marxist comrades in the unemployment line next January.
-
Well-intentioned but dim folks who say it doesn't matter if a democrat beats a "RINO" might want to recall that every single "RINO" voted "no". It makes a HUGE difference.

Sir, we are in the position we're in now, because for the past 20 years or longer, we've had "Republicans" who've been willing to sell out the Republic - "reach across the aisle", or "bi-partisanship" they call it - whenever the Marxists have put up their "baby-steps toward Socialism" legislation. Lord Zero couldn't have gotten what he got yesterday without all the RINO sellouts providing political cover during the baby-steps days.
So great, they voted against the bill yesterday. So what? There are dozens of other votes they sold us out on, and for all of that, they need to be GONE.

Agreed just because they got it right last night does not excuse them for what they did in the past. Hopefully they woke up though and will return to their conservative roots.

I never said they shouldn't be gone, but that's only a matter for the primary. The fact is, in the real world, the General Election choice will often come down to a "RINO" or a democrat. In that case, anyone who says it doesn't matter who wins is just DUmb. In today's political climate ANY Republican is vastly preferable to ANY democrat.

I disagree if the RINO in question helps the dems get what they want we may as well have a dem anyway. We somehow managed to reign in all the RINOs this time next time they may join the dems.

Rinos are usually leftist on one or two things, but most DimRats are leftist on nearly everything. There is still a difference.

RINOS is why we have health care legislation signed into law tomorrow.
The RINOS is why the dems are in power.

But, with RINOs, the Republicans would have controlled the legislative agenda, and the HR"C" would never have come up, much less have been voted on. That one good enough for ya?

Depends on how many RINOS you have. If McCain was POTUS we would have cap and tax by now.
-

Perhaps. Perhaps not. Hell, even the Dems in the Senate were smart enough not to act on it.

And amnesty.
And - odds are - a watered down version of "Single Payer"; kinda like this is.
And a squishy, moderate, Sandra O'Conner/Anthony Kennedy-like Supreme Court justice that nobody but the Marxists could rely upon, if we were lucky. (If we weren't lucky, and President McLame went with "what he could get through the Senate", we'd have another traitor in black robes, like David Souter.)
Need I go on?
-

That's only because they couldn't entice a "republican" or three across the aisle to give them political cover.
-
Im not thrilled with a lot of the RINOs - however, denying The One their votes is about the best they could have done with a bad situation. HCR is the Democrat's problem now - and that all the average person is going to remember as the O-conomy continues its decent.
Well, save for healthcare related stock..
-

I heartily endorse that sentiment, sir.
-
I just can't seem to get this straight. The democrat plan for socialized medicine passed with 219 democrat votes, and zero Republican votes, but the real reason it passed was the presence of impure Republicans? That's amazing. One would tend to think it passed because there are too many democrat votes and not enough Republican votes in the Congress. I guess you have to be really, really nuanced to understand.
-
There was absolutely no bi-partisan support for this bill, while there was some bi-partisan opposition.
-
The Democrat party is dead come Novemeber. They hung themselves out to dry passing this shitpile of a bill .Suck on it DUmmies. Suck it long and Suck it hard

They aren't done committing suicide yet. They still want to take on amnesty for illegals, and cap and tax this summer.
-
It was pointed out to me that this is like RomneyCare in MA. I looked it up and they are surprisingly similar. Imagine that.... a failing health care system they republicans didn't want to emulate.
I guess the democrats figured that if it failed on a state level it would HAVE to work on a national level.

And, Mitt Romney wants to be the standard-bearer for the Republicans. Not gonna happen.

"If a republican can break the system, we can break it better", US House/Senate democrats.
-

If the Republican Party pulls another boneheaded, "it's his turn" play like they did with Juan McLame and Bob Dole, he just might be.
Of course, on the pull-down menu I would append to Mitt Romney's name I'd add:
Tim Pawlenty
Mike Huckabee
Jeb Bush
Rick Perry(?)
oh, and Ron Paul
and the list only gets longer as more and more "Moderates" make noises about running for President.

I already heard on the radio this morning, that Obama is pimping his Financial Reform now.

I think he has the bill in hand for Wallstreet reform. At least I thought both the senate and house had passed it.

I don't think the Senate has passed. The AP one read better, but well, it is the AP.
The bill, which would give the Federal Reserve power to break up firms that could threaten the stability of the financial system if they suffered serious problems, faces a reasonably smooth road at the committee level, where Democrats have votes to pass the measure without Republican support......Under Dodd's bill, the Fed -- the U.S. central bank -- would gain authority over the nation's largest bank-holding companies and become the home to a new consumer watchdog with oversight of mortgage-related businesses and some large non-bank financial companies, such as insurers.
-
At least I thought both the senate and house had passed it.
That doesn't matter anymore. All he has to do is want it and set pelosi and reed on the job.

More of the meme that this is all the fault of the GOP. When the dems wrote it and passed it.
Last time I checked I thought that Pelosi had hung a "No Republicans Allowed" sign outside her office?
