I don't know squat about college basketball...can you help me fill in my brackets?
Gotta get my picks into the company pool by noon tomorrow. Last year I actually did pretty well just by blindly picking names for no apparent reason, but got shot down in the final rounds. So can anyone help? Where can I find info? or does someone want to help me out...if I win, I'll put the money towards a favorite DU charity (like Network for Good/National Association of Free Clinics). Anyone care to help a clueless brother out?
One imagines Pedro Picasso's pissed; some moderator on Skins's island moved this campfire out of "General Discussion," where all the hip, cool, trendy, with-it primitives hang out, and put it into the "Lounge," full of all these uncool primitives with a much lesser socioeconomic status.
Pedro Picasso doesn't like hanging with the hoi polloi.

He probably thinks it has something to do with agriculture, and Pedro Picasso's too good to deal with dirty ragged farmers.

5. Stick with mostly higher picks and try a guess with a upset here and there. Me and Obama have #13 seed Murray St winning the first round. Oh hell Obama seems to know a lot more about CBasketball than me but I do think he went a little overboard with upset picks in the early rounds however the title game and final 4 looks pretty good.

Puke as a 1 seed, along with the collapses of UConn and UNC, show what a down year this is for college hoops overall.

9. Basic strategies to make you competitive

Step 1: Skip past the first two round and immediately put all #1 seeds into the elite 8. #1 seeds are 20 for their last 20 in making the elite 8.
Step 2: Pick either a #2 or #3 seed to face off against the #1s in the elite 8. While this is not nearly the lock that the #1’s are, it still is a good way to collect some points. Remember, you are not smart enough to know what random #6 seed is going to make a run into the elite 8.
Step 3: Have all your #1, #2, #3 and #4 seeds winning the first round. A #1 seed has never lost in first round. Only 4 #2s have lost in the first round and #3s and #4s win at an 80% clip. Again, don’t try to outsmart the selection committee.
Step 4: Better pick a #12 seed to win or else the bracket nazi in your pool will hammer you for not doing it. Sure a #12 usually picks off a #5. But if I were to tell you I had a coin that produced tails 66% of the time, why would you ever pick heads? Anyhow, same can be said for the #11 vs. #6 matchups and the #10 vs. # 7 matchups.
Step 5: #8 vs. #9 is a legitimate coin flip. Pick who you want to see win.
Step #6: By now you have your final 8 teams; this is where it gets tough. At this point pick your winner first. I advise to pick a #1 seed since a #1 seed has won 15 of the last 20 tournaments. After that fill in the rest of the teams as you see fit.
Note from me: Step 4 means that every year there's at least one #12 seed that beats a #5. If you're going to try one this year, I suggest you make it UTEP over Butler.
The "basic strategies" as outlined above seem like the "basic strategy" franksolich uses when picking Powerball numbers. It's a good system, a great system, but only one problem.....franksolich hasn't won the Powerball yet.
