PHOENIX -- A Valley man is in the hospital after being shot by his ex-girlfriend's father during a fight.
It happened at about 1:30 a.m. in the neighborhood of 51st Avenue and Beardsley Road. Officers were still on the scene five hours later.
Detectives said it started when Daniels Fuches, 26, and his ex-girlfriend, whose name has not been released, ran into each other at a bar earlier in the night. The two apparently had a drink and then Fuches offered the 27-year-old woman a ride home. During that ride, the two apparently got into an argument about their breakup.
When the pair arrived at the house, the woman got out of Fuches' vehicle and kicked it. Police said Fuches then got out of the vehicle and started choking the woman.
The woman's father, who was inside the house at the time, heard the commotion and looked out his second-story window to see what was happening.
Super dad to the rescue. (http://www.azfamily.com/news/local/Father-allegedly-shoots-daughters-ex-boyfriend-after-early-morning-fight-88172062.html)

:hi5: To that dad
-
Good for him.
Hope he doesn't get in trouble for coming to his daughter's rescue.

Nothing good happens at 1:30 am.
Pops don't play.

I'd be in jail if someone was choking my daughter at 1:30 AM because that someone would be DOA.

The article quotes Arizona state law that extends the right of a person to protect himself from imminent danger to a third person as well. There's a caveat statement that says that any incident would be investigated, but the way it's reported right now, Dad is justified in shooting the perp. Perp continued choking the girl, even after he was hit on the head by the weapon and shot in the leg. Only then did he approach Dad with a large rock. It took one more round to take him down.

And that last round was to the groin. :evillaugh: It also said that the dad attended to the assailant's injuries, which would tend to favor his story of how it happened.

Put a hand to my baby girl and a gun will be the least of your worries.
