He's only done it once in 22 years, and the last time, it shut the switchboards down.
I'm curious to see what happens.

Rush Limbaugh's effort to shutdown the Capitol switchboard is an attempt at political terrorism designed to deprive real Americans of their right to contact their representative and Mr. Limbaugh should answer for his crimes! [/DUmmie]
Just quote me and put up the link when some DUmmie says it for real.

Guess they haven't woken up yet to notice, as I can't find a thread about it yet. I'll keep an eye out.

Last time was an experiment. This time, he's serious. I'd be surprised if the entire switchboard rooms don't melt through the floors before this day is over.
-
Turnabout is fair play. The 0bama administration set up a website to have DUmmies call radio shows like Rush's.
-
I wonder if they are going to give the people answering the phone a script of what to say when they are being flooded with calls
-
Melting the phone system is only one small thing. I say blow up all the bridges, TV and radio stations, knock out water and sewage and electric service and....
okay... I'm just using wishful thinking now.

Congressional Switchboards Flooded With Health Care Call Deluge! (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x7930086)
Good to hear people on not sitting on their hands, no matter what they are calling about.
"In what seems to be the final (really!) push on health care reform on Capitol Hill, offices have been deluged with phone calls from across the country. They are pro-reform, anti-reform, blasting reconciliation or begging for an up-or-down vote - engaged voters who are attempting to influence the course of what will be a razor-close vote this weekend.
No one has been more targeted than the 37 House Democrats who voted "No" the first time around on health care, the majority of which did so under the mantle of fiscal responsibility. They are prime gets for Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the White House, who need to peel off a few to make up for the lost votes due to retirements and a change in the abortion provisions in the legislation.
At one point this week, the calls shut down the Congressional switchboard. Democrats would not release a tally of their organized effort but said the calls seems to surpass the record number set last fall."

And the DUmmies think it's them! :rotf:

1. Just caught my daily 2 minutes of Rush's show..
He is telling his listeners specifically to call and tie up the lines.

Maha Rushie never said "tie up the lines", 3x_the_DUmbass. It's just a natural side effect of 20 milllion - pissed off - people calling their idiot congress-shits at once.

I was listening to local talk radio this afternoon. A guy called in to say he had called the Rock Hill office of (D)rep. John Spratt to register his "NO" on the healthcare bill. He ask the guy that took his call if he'd tell him how the calls were running. His answer was yes and the were running about 95% against the bill...we'll have to wait and see how the old double lung transplant recipient at taxpayers expense votes.
-
CNN was on the TV at the body shop earlier today. I heard Rick
Olbermann Sanchez mention the phone lines at the Capitol were "melting". No mention of Limbaugh, though.
-
Rush said that the first numbers he gave out you got a recording asking you to support the HC bill. I called one of them right after and sure enough that's what the recording said.
-
He's been giving the numbers out again today. He also played a few clips of several news stations who were reporting it as news last night. :cheersmate:

I bet liberals give out the number all the time. Not newsworthy.

But when Rush does it, with 20 million listeners or so, it becomes newsworthy.
