Title: TGIF
Post by: thundley4 on March 12, 2010, 06:01:01 AM
Went to work, and came back home, it's been a slow couple of weeks. I don't mind too much, but I still have to be on call. It just  sucks that we're supposed to have showers and cooler temperatures all weekend.

Forecast for constant rain through Tuesday still holding, with temperatures in the high 40s in the Sandhills of Nebraska.

Nebraska has gone from an endless ocean of horizonless snow to a quagmired morass of bottomless mud.

But I guess we'll get over it.

Rain rain rain and more rain is the forecast through the weekend.

I'm just thankful it's not snow.

Cloudy, windy, cold.  So much for a sunny Saturday for yard work.  Inside yet again this weekend.

But at least it's Friday.

Am supposed to be in a CE class, but don't have closing documents for my closing first thing Monday morning.  :(

Have to figure out why they arent being sent, it's a foreclosure property, the lawyers are in Memphis and because it's a cash sale, my buyer and I and the list agent are meeting at the buyer's bank first thing Monday morning to sign documents and wire money. Normally closings are at title company, but this particular law office doesn't do it the way everyone else does.

Scurrying around acquiring closing docs is not my job.  ::) I can't risk this not closing on time...it's a $100 fine to the buyer and a fine to me if the property doesn't close on time. Memphis is an hour behind us, but I wasn't going to wait until I got out of class at 3 to deal with this. So I get to pay a $20 fine for not showing up to class....but it's better than if this closing doesn't happen Monday.

Very gloomy out, going into the 60's and supposed to be stormy.  :badmood:

It is rainy out today.  My boss has finally approved overtime, but she cautioned me against wearing myself out because we will most likely be short an employee for at least several months, and we were short handed before my co-worker put in his notice.  On the plus side, I've had a couple of supervisors mention that my hard work was being noticed  :yahoo:  Reviews are in July, so if I avoid any major screw-ups between now and then, I should have a very good one.

Sunny and 60 something, all weekend.   :-)  Tonight will be spent clearing out my garage to make room for a 71 Opel, and a 68 Firebird.  Yeah, I am a gearhead.  HA.  Naw, the boyfriend needed a place to store his for a few months while a garage redo is being redone.

Oh yeah, and I am planning getting all my flower beds ready for planting this weekend, and picking up all the poo in the back yard.  Woohoo.

Cool and partly clouded here in Texarkana. Getting ready to cross the Arkansas line on day one of spring break. Should make it to at least Nashville before I call it a day.

High is suppose to be 69 today.  I would love to do some work in the yard this weekend but I am not suppose to bend my head down (for two weeks) because of the eye surgery I had.  The week before the surgery I hurt my back and was in bed for a few days (it hurt like hell to sit or walk), now after the eye surgery I have laid in bed because there isn't anything I can do and it is getting really old.  You also are not suppose to do anything that raises your blood pressure...that cuts out just about everything except laying in bed.  I can't spend too much time on the computer because it bothers my eyes (which is normal after eye surgery).  It is getting better every day so hopefully I will be back to normal next week.  I probably have a bald spot on the back of my head from laying in bed so much.

I found out why I didn't get the paperwork ....and why the lawyer wanted to talk to me.

She wanted to know why they hadn't received the loan documents....and wanted to know just when my buyer's lender was going to get it together and send them. And how did we think we were going to close on time when they hadn't gotten to them yet?

It's a cash sale.

And the sales contract not only clearly says so....but I sent a proof of funds availability to them with the initial offer....that also clearly stated it was a cash sale.

Reading the documents is obviously not in her job description.  :thatsright:

Took until 12:30 to get it resolved.  :banghead:

I missed class for nothing.  Now I have to reschedule ...I need 5 more hours in order to have my license renewed.   :censored:

In the upper 50s here with a good wind to dry the mud.  I have some injured horses to work on this Sunday up in the hills west of me.  I really enjoy that.

Further proof that the world is sometimes infected with stupidity. With luck and a good tail wind, the closing will happen. And there's a margharita in your future?

Thanks Euph...

It's going to close, and I'm thinking there maybe a martini about 24 hours into the future. We're staying in tonight. The weather is a bit grim.

I was out about an hour ago and there's standing water everywhere, and it's still doing the PPB rain. But at least the thunder has stopped.  :-)

We smack in the middle of the TVA lake system and all winter the lake down the road from us has been at what's called "full pool". Usually TVA pulls it way down in late October, at the latest, so that many who have lakefront properties during the summer have mudflat properties from October (some lakes start to pull down in August) until April. We have had so much rain the last 6 months that there has been no where to put the water, and the lake down the road has been over it's banks for months.

Last week, TVA pulled it waaaaay down. Good thing. We are past full saturation on ground water, and there is no where else for it to go except to flow somewhere on the surface. If the rain keeps up the way it is for another hour or so....we'll have standing water flooding all over the place tonight.  :(

Ah, Friday night, and not doing jack squat, save a little light housework and a couple of Copperhook beers.  Already doing last load of laundry, dishes done, vacuumed living room and upstairs.

Tomorrow will be mopping the kitchen and dining room, some dusting, and if it's not raining, pick up the yard.
