Poll question: Would a general strike threaten corporate personhood? (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x7834533)

General strikes can literally shut down nations.

Google the history of general strikes in Europe.

Poll result (3 votes)
Yes  (3 votes, 100%) Vote
No  (0 votes, 0%) Vote

Brand new thread.  The only thing a general strike would accomplish would be to get the remaining employed DUmmies fired.

What's the point of creating a poll the concept of which will never see the light of day?  Might as well have a poll that says "Would a supernova in a galaxy 70 trillion light years from Earth threaten corporate personhood?"

I vote YES TOTHE SUPERNOVA!!!!!!1111!!!  Because I'm a knee-jerk reactionary [/DUmode].

18 votes so far, with 67% saying Yes.  But, only one comment, from a professor.  He brought up the question of Hannah Bell's fist-in-the-air strike sponsored by all manner of socialists & communists.  It's supposed to be today.  Anybody heard anything?  The prof had not, which surprised him.

ETA:  Nothing on google.

They're so gosh-darn cute when they think they could call for a strike and it would actually matter to anyone.

Without corporate personhood.. how would you sue them in court?? Are you going to have to list every stockholder and have them on the stand??

"We're going to need a bigger stand"....

"Wal-Mart shareholders you stand accused of causing this man to slip and fall on a wet floor, how do you plead?"

"This will take a while"

Every shareholder hires a different lawyer. lol.

That's my question....what are they going to strike "from", for, whatever?
Not going to cash their welfare checks...not going to use their foodstamp cards...lock themselves out of government housing....burn section 8 housing...refuse to do drugs....what?

Essentially that corporations have the same rights as individuals.  Pisses off the libs, so I'm happy with it.
