For the first time since the evening of December 22, 2009, the house is 100% wholly cat-free, all the cats outdoors romping and playing in the snow, the mud, the trees, the meadows, and even scaling the William Rivers Pitt.
I don't mean to insinuate I disliked having a herd of cats indoors--after all, even though I'm not a cat person, I'd rather have them inside and safe, than outside and in peril during inclement weather--but they can get on one's, and each others', nerves.
At times, the past ten weeks, one or two of them was outside, but not for long.
Anyway, while the Sandhills of Nebraska may yet get another snowstorm or two, it's obvious winter is winding down, and that the cold temperatures are now history.
On the William Rivers Pitt, which is warmer soil than the dirt surrounding because the William Rivers Pitt is still "fermenting,", earlier this week shot up the first greenery, although there's not enough of it yet to identify it.

4 inches of snow last night, more coming down through weekend. Power still out and doesn't look like it will be back this weekend. Thank God for generators but still no hot water and bored to tears. Will probably finish Atlas Shrugged (again) and I'm on page 300 now. Who knew laundromats were so friggin expensive?

I didn't have to scrape my car off this morning. Yahoo. Still waiting for some warmer weather; high of 44° today.

I woke up to SUN! The sun is shining, the sky is blue! Who gives a blank what the temp is. I am envisioning a walk with the dog and a clean car in my forecast.
-
Yeah, I woke up this morning and the sun was out. I thought I was late for work.
-
It's sunny for now, but flurries are forecast for later but the highs are supposed to be in the mid 30's.
-
It's gonna be sunny and almost 60 here in North Central Texas. I slept half the day away because of the lack of sleep yesterday. I think I will venture out and maybe work on my truck. The front rotors are badly warped.

I woke up to cold but the sun was out. It's up to 39, sun is gone, rain then snow flurries coming in.... :thatsright: where have I heard that forecast before?
Going to do a repeat performance on Tuesday...just in case we don't enjoy it today..... :whatever:
Last night, Runnin' Buddy and I went with our sons and her daughter to a bar downtown to hear a band play. She told me it would be fun ...they were not a "head banger" band.
She lied.
I just can't get in to listening to a bunch of kids hop around a stage and scream. ::) We went because two of the bands had kids in them that our kids had gone to school with...and we moms had known them when they were little tykes.
RB and I left and went to a different place and sat at the bar drinking lemon drop martinis and watching Olympic reruns until almost 2am!!! We didn't solve the problems of the world but it was nice to have uninterrupted conversation.
My meat fast ended at midnight and at 12:30 we split the most fabulous cheeseburger I've had in a long time! Don't know what they did to it, but the meat had a heavy taste of worchestershire sauce in it. It didn't even need any salt or pepper.
M woke up when I walked into the bedroom at 2:30.....with an oh, you're finally home. :therock:
oops. :innocent:

Most of town back except our area. Reason they gave was that most of the line crews were already in western and northern NH with snow when our storm hit. Same deal as ice storm...too many outages and not enough crews. One of my coworkers has his sump pump fail and now has 7 feet of water in his basement...and no power. This will not be a good weekend.

Damn, my back hurts from sitting in a chair all day. At least I'm home. Free! Free!
I found a different brand of chorizo (http://itsgooo-od.com/products/chorizo-sausage) at Kroger's today. I'm looking forward to trying it out -- I think I'll make meatloaf tomorrow.

Crammed most of today due to the exam I have next Saturday.
Mrs. E even helped out and decided to prepare the Sunday school lesson for me.
Still gotta practice today tonight.
