How the **** did we find ourselves here?????
Single payer was never considered.
Now the "public option" is gone.
A few sops to the peons and the rest of this crap bill is the health care version of the bank bailouts.
How the living **** did we get here?
It's a large campfire, during which time the sparkling husband primitive proves himself Dale-Carnegie-challenged.

33. I am sure regular people will not benefit by ending the "pre-existing conditions" scam.
They will not benefit by expanding medicaide to millions of people.
They will not benefit by ending the anti-trust exemptions that allow Health Care Companies to create private monopolies.
They will not benefit from many other provisisons that will make Health Care more available to tens of millions of people.
But my sister, and my children living on very limited incomes right now will really benefit. That is a good place to start.

38. No one says those things aren't good. So your argument is very much a straw man
The issue is that things could have been MUCH better. But you seem content to settle for crumbs.
With a better plan, we would have had all you snark about plus REAL health CARE reform.

49. No, my argument was in answer to this statement...
"It will help the insurance companies more than it will help the regular person"
The items I listed will prove enormous benefit to lots of regular persons, millions in fact.
I am speaking out against the meme that the bill is just a corporate give away.
The health care bill is a improvement over what we have. It will help tens of millions of people. It is a small, critical step in the right direction, an incremental change for the good.
It is not perfect, it is not anywhere near all of what we need.
I am not putting up a straw man that can be knocked down. I am pointing out how the bill will help regular people.

63. My sincere apology
I answered you as if you had replied to my OP. You did not and your answer was appropriate to that which you addressed.
I wrongly replied to you and I am sorry.

27. For some, it is a matter of percetion.
For some it is a matter of deception.
after which an image of that popular psychological portrait
What is it for you?
The young woman? The crone? The rabbit? The bird? The preying mantis?
Forced misperception is deception in some people's books.

36. Do you accuse the poster of not being abe to evaluate what is best for themselves?
Do you presume they are incapable of perceiving their own interest?

40. The poster to which I replied made a broad brush, hyperbolic, non specific statement
I replied in kind. But without the hyperbole.
You're acting like a snotty brat. I'm not calling you one. I am saying you're acting like one.

44. I don't see how they said anything of the kind.
As for non-specific, their description of the bill was no less specific than your own.
There is certainly nothing hyperbolic about wanting something that you believe may save your LIFE, and please, if you would, point out what broad-brush statement they made in that post.
While we're at it, how about answering the question? Do you accuse that poster of being unable to perceive their own interest?

46. This is my last reply to you on this topic .......
My response to the poster (why are you inserting yourself in this, by the way? You the police or something??) was quite specific to the non-specific, hyperbolic statement made. Obtuse, perhaps, but if you think about it, you'll see where it was going. It does, however, need some thought.
Please have a really swell day. Sunshine and a warm wind at your back.

They'll eventually figure out that this is a "We Don't Care About Your Care Health Bill".
