U.S. energy secretary Steven Chu said Wednesday that the U.S. must decrease its energy use to allow developing nations the room to grow, while emphasizing that prosperity doesn't have to come with a large carbon footprint.
"We believe we have to decrease our use of energy to allow headroom for the developing nations to grow their economies," Chu said in a speech in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates.
"There is no law of physics that says prosperity is proportional to carbon emissions," Chu said.
Chu is visiting the U.A.E. Wednesday as part of a Middle East trip this week that has included a stop in top oil exporter Saudi Arabia and that will take him to Qatar Thursday.
The U.A.E. is one of the world's highest carbon emitters -- and Abu Dhabi is a major oil producer -- but the Gulf nation is committed to diversifying its energy mix and is developing a peaceful nuclear energy program.

Hey Chu, get your side to allow coal, nukes and more drilling here, and we'd need less oil from the terrorist supporting nations. As a plus we wouldn't have to worry about reducing our power consumption.

Hey Chu! (Bless me...)
I will when your boss does the same! Asshat.
-
Let me know when Chu's boss cuts his frivolous travel and vacation schedule in half. Then I might pretend to be concerned about my own energy use.

Sigh.
Apparently Stevie Chu didn't get the memo. You know, the one that says, in part:
"Email-wielding scientists notwithstanding, the 'carbon-credit' salesmen and the 'climate change' Twinkie-stuffers have all but admitted they are full of shit.
"It's time we climbed off the bandwagon that insists that the Himalayas are going to melt, that the polar icecaps are receding faster than Bruce Willis' hairline, and that the scientific method is somewhat negotiable when trying to prove a point."
Mr. Chu? You are redundant. You and your entire staff of leeches and career bureaucrats have long since forgotten what's real and what's fantasy.
I'd suggest you go ahead and get your pony, saddle him up, and ride off into the sunset.
Don't forget your skittles before you leave. Your pony will need them.

Mr. Chu. Bite me. I will use as much energy as I want, because I pay for it. :bird:

And if the DimRats have their way, you'll pay much more for it.

yeah, I know....and that is why I am on a path of making my lifestyle more energy efficient, well that and I am frugal, but HE doesn't have to know that. :-)

China or Japan will repossess them before long.
