Title: poll: do you ever get bored by the primitives of Skins's island?
Post by: franksolich on February 24, 2010, 05:28:54 PM
While reading Pedro Picasso (the "Atman" primitive) today, it suddenly occurred to me how boring the primitives can be at times.

Of course, I've had the feeling before, and know that this too will pass.

Decent and civilized people get tired of repetitious unrelenting Hate, as do I, but I get even more tired of something else; the primitives, alleging to be socially conscious, sensitive to the needs of the poor and oppressed, always "demanding" that something be done for the less fortunate, ostensibly supporting a "greener planet," but then the primitives turn right around and boast, brag, gloat, about living the good life, having the good things.

The don't-go-there primitive (the "BeHereNow" primitive) with the private swimming pool in her backyard in southern California; the C-Pig primitive (the "California Peggy" primitive) living in Streisandian opulence and luxury in southern California; the Bostonian Drunkard ensconced in his trust fund; Leona Helmsley of DUmmieland (the "flyarm" primitive) abiding in both her New Jersey palatial estate (multiple structures) and luxury quarters down in Florida (but claiming residence in Florida so as to avoid the higher taxes of the Garden State); the kaput primitive (the "kpete" primitive) sequestered in an exclusive luxury "gated community" in southern southern California; the tularetom primitive and all his lake-front real-estate and stable of horses in California; the hypochondrial primitive (the "mopinko" primitive) living in upper-class affluence in a suburb of Chicago; the sparkling husband primitive (the "Stinky the Clown" primitive) and his high-end rental properties; ad nauseam.

And even the near-destitute cooking and baking primitives, constantly desperate in their frantic quest to jam their pantries and closets full of things; the latest cooking and baking junk to be found on half-hour infomercials on television.

I suppose one ignorant of franksolich in real life would assume there is some jealousy involved here, but such is hardly the case.  I've had "good things" in life, but have stoically spurned them since I collided head-first into the stark realities and horrors of poverty and want in the socialist paradises of the workers and peasants with free medical care for all.

It was a, uh, rather brutal experience, seeing the worlds to which the primitives wish to consign us ("us," not they themselves).

Even owning a wristwatch (and I used to have a rather high-end piece of jewelry, too), to me, seems a luxury far more than what I deserve, when so many others are in want.  Or more than two pairs of shoes, or even a bed (there are beds for guests in this house, but I myself do not use one).  My weekly garbage barely fills one of those stupid plastic "shopping bags" one gets at the grocery store.

It's not a bad life, and it considerably uncomplicates life.

I suspect that even before I went to the socialist paradises of the workers and peasants, I was temperamentally suited for the austere spartan life, just as I'm not temperamentally suited to be competitive or a "team member" (being instead the "lone wolf" sort of person), or to be enamoured of the popular culture, or to sit around smoking dope.

It's best to be known for what one is, rather than for what one has.

My usual caveat here--decent and civilized people are exempt from my criticism, as decent and civilized people don't yap on and on about how "good" they are, about how "unselfish" they are, about how "virtuous" they are, about how "caring" they are.

The primitives of Skins's island, on the other hand.....

Well, the primitives are so full of hot air it's probably causing this global warming.

Decent and civilized people live their principles; primitives only preach them.

And so when reading Pedro Picasso today, boasting about all the toys and gadgets in a rented automobile, fantasizing himself in charge of some sort of mission control, it's very difficult to suppress a yawn.

Frequently.  Mostly because while they find an unending array of situations in which to parade their "intallekshul superiority"  :rotf: their responses are so predictable that anyone who's studied the primitives for longer than 6 months in any detail could program who responds and when like a producer for The Truman Show.  It really is depressing what a rut the little Goons are in.

Uh-huh.

There's several primitives for whom, when encountering one of their posts, I already know what the primitive's saying, even before I click to open it.

Yeah, mostly because the more flamboyant DUmmies have all been tombstoned. TiT, OMC, armyowalgreens, WillPitt (not tombstoned just self-relegated into obscurity), Ben Burch, etc...? They're all "disruptors" now.

I'm getting very, very bored by the absence of entertaining DUmmies. I just don't think nitwits like Warpy, TwixVoy, Atman, and ThomWV can fill the clown shoes of the Las Vegas whale, Pam Dawson, bobbolink, business hours Pitt, mythsaje, and the other mysteriously vanished DUmbasses. We are stuck, temporarily, I hope, with a stable of unimaginative, boring morons. I'm still holding out hope for Pammie and the behemoth, but I'm afraid she has met the business end of the Glock, and his overburdened ticker has exploded, as anyone could have predicted it would. If Pam has survived the Glock, she may have run afoul of that control freak jerk of a principal she described there at Jardine Middle School in Wichita. He may have cut off her internet access as a condition for employment. If I were a control freak jerk of a principal, I would not appreciate one of my staff being recognized as Top DUmmy of 2009.

Yeah, the quality of the primitives seems to be declining.

Naturally I'm hoping it's just a temporary thing.

I voted sometimes a little because even though they may go a day or so where they post thread after thread all wailing on about a given hysteria of the moment one knows that it is only a matter of a few hours usually that there will be something so absurdly ignorant posted that it will be amusing to highlight.

Frequently, because it just gets frustrating to the point of boredom to know people this stupid and hypocritical are only the squeaky wheel of an 18-wheeler which put someone like Hussein into the Oval Office. Or maybe frustrating to the point of boredom because I truly cannot understand, even if I tried to be objective and impersonal, their hypocritical and willfully ignorant mentality. It gets boring fast unless someone's being unintentionally funny, and they usually spew too much vitriol for that. They're really boring to me as a Christian because I already know the end they're striving to bring about, even though they mock and scoff as they do exactly as I already know they will do.

But I still  come to CC to read, not because what they say is so enticing, but because a lot of y'all's commentary on their moonbattery keeps me in stitches (the CalPig poem thread had me laughing till I cried.)

*Suck-up Alert* And because franksolich has to be about the nicest most unassuming yet intelligent guy I've seen on an internet forum. I'd almost think he was Canadian, except that he himself has never once told us all how nice and polite and modest he is.

The talent pool at Skin's Island has been evaporating - through involuntary tombstoning, wandering away, or self-immolation. Sadly, the primitives that remain tend to be dullards with predictable stories.

Its not as bad as watching reruns of Gilligan's Island on TV - It's as bad as watching the same episode of Gilligan's Island on TV.

It may be time to scout for new talent.

An outsider would think we were staging things with Skinner when somebody brings a thread over, and within the first 5 CC posts we have a 'Caver saying, "Cue Bobbolink", if a thread is sure to stomp on the toes of "the homeless"; or "cue Warpy" if a thread delves deeper into the primitives desire for free to them socialized medicine; or "Cue Stinky", if the OP on a thread leaves himself wide open for one of 'em to retort with something exceptionally stupid.  The surprise comes (for them) when sure as shit, another 'Caver drags over a post on the thread from the primitive cued.

Predictable as Pavlov's Dog at the sound of a bell.

Oh, no, no, coach has told us innumerable times that he is the nicest person anyone could ever meet. We know he isn't Canadian because he doesn't apologize for it.

Heehee.

I kind of had in mind the little dust-up between the Brits and the Canucks regarding Brit media coverage ("worst games ever" according to one Brit media blogger). The Brits are doing their usual "we're just taking the piss, never knew you Canadians were so thin-skinned" and the Canucks are responding "you just don't recognise polite, nice, humble people when you meet them" and the like. One Brit responded "yeah we know how humble you are, you keep telling us" and bringing up the "Own The Podium" thing. The Americans are mostly just lurking because for once it's not us in the crosshairs, except for one lil comment by an American on a Times comment section (running into the 600s, mostly from irate Canadians and amused snarky Brits), kind of squeaking quietly by-"Now you know how we feel, we put up with this on a daily basis from everyone and are expected to to shrug it off"--which, I might add, most of us are inured enough by now to do.

The whole thing's been a hoot to read, between the Canadians getting a taste of our daily dose (and squawking mightily too), and the Brits pretending as usual that it was all a friendly joke and they'll rag on their own Olympics even more in 2012.

Sometimes, a lot, especially in the last few months.

Although Pitt seems to have emerged today from his seemingly self imposed exile posting at least two of his Truthout screeds he is still one of the most boring Primitives around.  Even some of the most O-mesmerized, like French Fired Cat Crap, aren't really entertaining enough to hold my attention.

The only thing that's truly made me LOL in the last couple of days is the Virtual March they got all excited about.  Yeah, a virtual march.  That's about the speed of a Primitive's political involvement.

I said sometimes.  I get very weary with their lack of a single original thought to rattle around their empty gourds.  They receive talking points, take them as gospel, and then spew them back.  They cannot think for themselves.  For example, when Garafalo said all teapartiers were racist, that was the whole unvarnished God's truth from there on out.

I get bored with AllentownJake's and others' economic screeds; which are so wrong given the historical reality.  For example, to many of them, the Reagan era was one big Great Depression with grinding poverty, soup kitchens out of soup, and cardboard shoes.  When they discuss tax policy, it would be funny if it wasn't so scary in these current times.

However, I stay a faithful reader of CC and the DUmpster, for the gems we uncover.

The talking point lockstep, that's one of the things that I was thinking of when I say "frustrating". There is no way that even the dummies, or at least a good many of them, are that stupid-like the way they keep citing polls showing "overwhelming support" for a public option. I have yet to see an actual link to one of these polls, and if they did give one, it would be from a moonbat site. All mainstream polls show non-support for ObamaCare, much less a public option.

There's no way that many of them are that stupid, as to think that people (other than the peanut gallery) will just believe whatever they throw out there, just because they say so. Especially when we know, and they MUST know, that the polls show just the opposite of what they say.

This hypocrisy and willful ignorance of reality used to make me want to beat my head against a wall, how do you have a realistic debate, or even conversation, with people who make up facts to suit their argument, and know it, and don't care if you know it? As long as it supports the "virtual reality" that they want to be?

Sane people can't maintain the level of frustration and insult to their intelligence, you finally just get bored with the predictable mendacity, and bored with the assumption that you'll take their manipulations at face value.

Uh huh.

When one reviews the TOP PRIMITIVES OF 2009, one is struck by that, having accomplished this pinnacle, the winning primitives think they can rest on their laurels now.

Think about it; look at the list:

20 Twix Voy
19 Proud2BLibKansan
18 Name removed
17 now deceased
16 armyowalgreens mausoleumed
15 Frenchie Cat
14 Ian David
13 cali
12 Horse With no Name
11 Atman

10 California Peggy
09 Warpy
08 Systematic Chaos
07 Joanne98
06 AdBot
05 Stinky the Clown
04 undergroundpanther
03 EFerrari
02 bobbolink
01 greenbriar

I don't think any of these award-winning primitives have been particularly distinguished this year thus far.

Winning went into their heads.

They don't think they have to try any more.

They really don't. Cpeg gave us the "poem." Warpy has been very methodically dull, along with Pammy. The rest have just been quiet, which normally is a good thing.

This poll by the way is meant to accompany other polls about the DUmpster, to wit:

"Are we too mean to the primitives on Skins's island?"

http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/topic,40292.0.html

"Do we 'snoop' too much on the primitives of Skins's island?"

http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/topic,40397.0.html

"Are there any primitives that we like, or at least respect?"

http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/topic,40562.0.html

"Do we 'sabotage' Skins's island?"

http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/topic,40663.0.html

"Should the DUmpster be restricted to only politics from Skins's island?"

http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/topic,40922.0.html

These are all residing in the DUmping Ground, a subsidiary forum of the DUmpster.

The DUmpster is similar with the "general circulation" division of a library, while the DUmping Ground is similar with the "reference" section of the same library.

One is appalled, even disheartened, that very few lurking primitives are aware of the DUmping Ground, which possesses a wealth of information.

So, who do we have in the running so far this year. I know it's early, but I've got a case of "What have they done for me lately." So far, we've got CPeg laying one steaming pile of a poem, the Twix prim trying to be financially relevant to the world, bobbolink being her ever rabid self a few times. Who else? I've got a couple of points for the-not-so-straight-story, especially for his panhandling for skydiving request. Maybe tonysam for not only getting fired from her union teaching gig, but also having to represent herself after what must have been every lawyer unwilling to support her case.

Bobbolink always gets my attention first, simply because I know she's actually scamming money from taxpayers, and actually turns up her nose at anything less than a McMansion paid for by the gub'mint (hard working taxpayers). These con artists who actually work at stealing other's money are the worst.

There's another one whose name I can never remember, who I think only posts a little in the "poverty" forum, who is just blatant about it. She actually comes right out with her belief that she shouldn't have to work for anything but is entitled to the best. Who she thinks should produce that best on her behalf I can guess.

You obviously don't mean the subway cat, the "undergroundpanther" primitive, because nobody forgets the subway cat--even though the subway cat fits your description.

Perhaps you're thinking of the squawking primitive, the "LadyHawk" primitive, who lives off the goodness of her dear mother's pocketbook?

Barring that, perhaps the natural primitive, the "Naturyl" primitive, but that's a guy.

Yes, it's often boring.  Primitives have the limitied though process of a child (sorry to put down children, but just using them as an example) and so often you get the same thing repeated over and over and over.  Because they each believe themselves to be the most intelligent person on the planet, they feel compelled to add in their worthless comments, often multiple times on the same topic.  One can, without fail, predict exactly what topic will rile them up and exactly what they'll say about it.  The entertaining part is reading to what level of stupidity they're willing to dig to be noticed.  But as far as the primtives go, and liberals in general, they offer little to nothing useful to society in a meaningful way.  If they were to suddenly vanish, after a couple of minutes good and descent people wouldn't give them not being here anymore a second thought.

I voted a lot.

The Lounge is full of inside dirty jokes that are never funny.  Same old pictures, same old fat boob shots. Same old people trying to be cool and young geeky people trying to be cool.  It's sad.

There used to be lots of flirting and dirty secrets but they all moved to Facebook.  Even that is boring.

It's the same old crazy screaming nuts or the attention grabbers that make no sense.

It's hard to find the funny sometimes but I try.

Late late at night they get drunk or high and post stuff they think no one will see.  Well sometimes, no one sees it.   :-)

I get tired of them talking about their personal lives. I don't want to hear it.

I voted sometimes because once in while they find a meme that they haven't driven into the ground or they just plain do what comes natrual and they go out and try to screw the football with every post.

Ever care to discuss economics.  We can anytime.

The Primitives for the most part are not that nihilistic as I have seen outside of DU.
