I hate Bart Stupak

What a ****ing hypocrite. That bastard is willing to torpedo HCR if he doesn't get his anti-abortion language in it. So Bart, you're so ****ing concerned about a few cells in some woman's uterus that you're willing to throw hundreds of thousands--if not millions--of real, living, breathing CHILDREN under the bus. How very compassionate and Xian of you. Why don't you slink back to C Street House and contemplate THAT? Dipshit.

How does he sleep at night??

and why hasn't be been booted from the Democratic caucus???

I guess if we had a Klansman in the Senate, we'd all just turn a blind eye to that too... oh, wait we already do (Sen. Byrd, former WV Grand Wizard).

8. By doing what the constituents of his socially conservative want

True, but that doesn't get the DUmmies their free ponies abortions.

I think the Yurovski primitive wants pizza. He was ignored, but I'll bet he was alerted on.

Of all the things to dislike Byrd for, this is a weak one. You have to apply the context of time and place. Starting his career in the 1920s, Harry Truman was also a member of the Klan. In much of the country at that time, including a lot of northern states, it was mainstream.

That may be true, but he is a shining example of which party still embraces racism.

My mother's father was in the Klan too. According to my mom, back in the 1920's it was something "everyone" did (and yet when I tried that excuse with her she gave me the whole "if everyone else was jumping off a bridge" thing), like joining the Elk's Lodge. Of course, he was a pedophile, too. I never did get around to asking her if NAMBLA was kind of like Rotary Club.

In context, it doesn't bother me either-I never had a problem either with Trent Lott's toast to Strom Thurmond-what bothers me is their hypocrisy and the way WE LET them get away with calling us out on much less, and even destroying political careers of those on the right for much less, all the while WE let them get away with things like this and Swimmer Kennedy with nary a peep. Everytime they threw Strom in Lott's face, he should've thrown Byrd right back at them-but as usual for a Republican when it comes to race, he wimped out. I'll never understand why WE LET them define us as racists, when no one has more racist policies than the left, if only WE'd define THEM correctly and in plain English for once.
