US activist's family to sue Israel
February 24, 2010 - 8:54PM
AFP
The family of US activist Rachel Corrie, run over by an Israeli bulldozer during a demonstration in Gaza in 2003, will sue the Jewish state over her death, their lawyer says.
The 23-year-old killed at the height of the 2000 Palestinian intifada, or uprising, became an symbol of foreign support for the Palestinian cause and the subject of a 2005 play based on her emails and diary.
"The state should take responsibility for the death of Rachel Corrie. We believe her killing was done intentionally or at least out of negligence and wrongdoing," Hussein Abu Hussein, the family's lawyer, told AFP on Wednesday.
The family will be travelling to Israel for the trial, which will start on March 10, Abu Hussein said.
Hey Judi Lynn, you're in the wrong part of the world. What's the matter? Is being on your knees in front of Hugo for so long finally getting to bitter to swallow?

5. It is *Precisely* that sort of denial of justice
that leads to people taking matters into their own hands.
Our government is getting there too.
Anarchy threat. Quick, act like a DUmmy and call the FBI.
Anyway. A new camp fire.

A backhanded slap at Teh Obamessiah, doesn't it?

I think Freeper used to say this a lot...if the moonbats were that dedicated to stopping the war, they'd go over and volunteer as human shields.
-
Sounds like they're suing in an Israeli court. Bet that'll work really well for them! :evillaugh:
It would have a huge statute of limitations problem in a US court, even aside from the whole sovereign immunity problem.

I wonder if this jack-hole has his pilot's license.

Can't wait to see if the Paulistinians pick up on this. They're big supporters of Saint Rachel of the Pancake based on a thread from a couple months ago I found in the asylum.
-
Oh, great. Another Rachel Corrie thread at the DUmp.

How do you keep the little razor blade marks from obscuring the screen? :-)

People who do not want to be pancakes should not stand in front of D8s.
IMHO, self-darwin.

Especially ones that have been all armored up and are hard to see out of.

I wish I could take credit for that. Don't remember where I first saw it, but it's probably my favorite internet cartoon.

Yep that was my response to them calling us chicken hawks.

I will flat out tell you, this has only a wafer thin chance of going anywhere. The courts will interpret the relevant law quite narrowly and the plaintiff's house of cards will come tumbling down on them. My guess is the Israeli lawyers will run roughshod over them, as they have more pressing matters to attend to. Right now the Corries are caught in the headlights of a juggernaut bearing down.
Okay, enough puns.
