Crappy day at work yesterday, not much better outlook for today.
Storm(S) coming in. Parts of NH looking at two FEET of snow between now and Friday.
Whee.
-
Ditto on the work front. Can't beat you with the snow. We are supposed to get 2 inches today, and if we do, we will beat the record set in 77-78 for all time snow. The snow should end about midnight, and then the fun begins. Temps decrease, meaning BLACK ICE for the commute in tomorrow. Woo friggin hoo.
-
Colder with flurries today and tomorrow. I'm ready for spring and warmer temps.

BLACK ICE

Only a matter of time.

Yup. I get up and head in extra early so I have the roads to myself. The worst hazard about BLACK ICE are the stupid blankety blanks. I am still paying on my car, it ain't gonna be involved in an automobile ping pong game if I can help it.

Work is crazy. I'm think of dragging one of my co-workers in with me to request overtime. I figure that if the two of us work on the same thing, then it will add a little more credence to the idea that we really need the ability to put in some extra time if we both request it.
Rain in the forecast today.

No snow up here in Texomaland, at least not yet. :-) It seems that the snow is going South of us.

Sprinky dinkin' here ....again. :(
May turn into snow sometime during the night....
Heading out to pick up a friend and we're going up to Pigeon Forge for lunch.....no, Euph...we are NOT going to Dollywood. Close though
Have a great day, Everybody!!!

Our electricity just came back on a few minutes ago, after bing out for about an hour. A semi didn't heed the no trucks signs for the streets and hit a low hanging line. The driver did hang around until the power company repairman showed up. I was surprised that a repairman was here within 15 minutes of my calling it in. :cheersmate:
-
I'm sitting in the eye doctors office waiting for my eyes to dilate. I can't see what I'm typing. This is a check up for my uveitis.

Sigh.

I was supposed to have traveled up to Chicago yesterday, but the combination slush/rain/sleet kept that from happening. (Believe me, I am NOT disappointed.)
But the tradeoff was I had to sit through 9 hours of a phone conference listening to people babble about shit that they had but a modest understanding of.
That's okay. I have to study this afternoon and fully intend to do so without having to sit in the back of a motor vehicle returning from Chicagoland.
-
Woo hoo, no UVeitis (knock on wood). On a bad note, I tripped when I was coming up the stairs in the garage when I came home from the doctor and hit my knee. I bet it is going to swell and bruise. :( But back to a positive note, I am getting my hair cut and colored today in about 30 minutes....WOO HOO.

Oh I have a tip for those with dry eyes. I found out by accident that castor oil works great for dry eye so I bought some (it has to be cold pressed, I got mine at the Vitamin Shoppe). I put a drop in both eyes (I bought a bottle with a dropper at the vitamin shoppe) in the morning and before I go to bed. Sometimes during the day if my eyes are bothering me. It comes out of your eye a little so if you are getting ready to go somewhere be prepared to use a tissue to wipe the excess. I usually rub the excess on both my upper and lower lids. It is also suppose to help your lashes. Anyway, I asked the eye doctor today about it and he said that castor oil is great for dry eyes. Told me to keep doing what I'm doing because my eyes (dry wise) are doing great.
I swear castor oil is a miracle elixir....it fixes everything. Look it up (especially women, it is great for the face, bruises, etc).

I finally got around to scheduling an appointment with my ophthalmologist. I'm one step closer to having a new lens put in. Hope this works.
Damn. I was hoping to get home an hour earlier. I got my emissions certificate, renewed my registration for the year, got a haircut, and hit up the junkyard. Nothing good at the junkyard -- they had identical '81 ZX's that were totally trashed. I got a replacement rear-view mirror and some shiny trim pieces to replace the plain black plastic ones around the windows. I wanted to take one of the dashboard, but they were both DOA as were the seats.
boring plastic vs. shiny metal (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/03/Datsun_280ZX_SeriesI_vs_SeriesII.jpg)
Still looking for seat foam. No luck yet. If it wasn't so cold, I'd go outside and polish my wheels instead.

Yeah, have fun with THAT. No trippy trip up to NH for me for awhile.

Oh, it's getting even better:

Straight out of the Patriot's Day storm a few years back. Frankly, I'd rather deal with the snow than the rain/flooding/eventual ice.

Colder, damper, rainier up in the mountains... :(
Tourist trap heaven up there....just about any outlet store you would want, t-shirt shops everywhere, and restaurants. Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg is second in the country to Las Vegas for destination weddings. Go figure...
Had a great time talking, catching up, and doing some business.....the apple fritters (these were hush puppy size) and with fresh apple butter were delicious! Brought home apple butter and peach butter for the other half, and some freshly made hand dipped milk chocolate cremes for me... :-). No touristy stuff....sole reason for going was the apple butter for M.... :innocent:

Yesterday, I saw the spine Doc. Surgery will be sometime in April, after getting approval from Tricare, etc, I will get a specific date. I'm not so sure of this surgery because I spoke with my Neurologist yesterday only to find out that I have a disease called spinal cerebellar ataxia. She DID say that surgery might keep the symptoms at bay a little longer, but only a little chance of actually getting better. :argh:

Yikes, what is spinal cerebellar ataxia? I could google it but I want to make you work.

I am not a fan of diseases that have x in them. Doesn't sound like fun.
Prayers up.

To put it succinctly, it's a dying off of the cerebellum, which also causes atrophy of the spinal cord.

OMGosh that sounds terrible. What causes it?

Rob, any chance for a second opinion?
How do they discern that condition? Wiki says that it's
Jeezus, prayers up and up and up.

I just went to Wiki....
amending my comment to Oh shit. :(
Are you getting another opinion?
Sending lots of prayers, hugs and love.

NO need for a second opinion. There's a specific test for this and mine was positive.
