Title: Alexander Haig lies in critical condition at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore

The 85-year-old general is in critical condition, although why is not known.

Haig was Secretary of State under Ronald Reagan.

He was also my number one choice, when I was young and green in judgement, for the Republican nomination for the presidency in 1980; but the way he acted during the assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan, I guess I was premature in my estimation of his character.

But he still beat the quality and integrity of any Democrat.
