Tea Party Organizer Wins New York State Assembly Race
Dean Murray, a 45-year-old Long Island, N.Y., businessman who organized Tea Party protests, will be sworn in as the new Republican state assemblyman representing Long Island's eastern 3rd Assembly District after being certified the winner of a special election held last Tuesday.
...
Murray has been active with the Tea Party movement since last year, first organizing the Medford, Long Island Tea Party rally on April 15, 2009, one of many held by Tea Party protestors that day across the country. He also was involved with another rally in September and credits the movement with helping him over the top.
"It was a combination of the issues and of the Tea Party movement," he told Fox News. "It is the message that is resonating from ordinary, everyday tax-paying citizens. Whether they are active in the Tea Party movement or not, we want a smaller government, we want fiscal responsibility, we want accountability from our political leaders and we want personal responsibility. I think that is what the Tea Party movement is about and that is what we finding we are not getting and that certainly played a role."

:thatsright:
Obama saw that and just bowed again.

Thing is, it's a "takeaway" from the Dems . . . but there's got to be about 40 more "takeaways" from the Dems for it to have any effect, in NY, in the Assembly. The Dems still have a huge majority in the Assembly.
As for "shot across the bow," again, there's got to be a lot more of those shots. The Obamessiah won't heed them until he gets beat in 2012.

Yes, I know, BSS, but every step counts. Congrats to Dean Murray!

Yes, it is true that every step counts. And, I think that the Tea party people are starting to have their effect on Albany in other ways. :-)

Call me paranoid (or maybe just familiar with Democrats' underhanded tactics), but how long do you think it will be before some pro-Obama Democrats start infiltrating the Tea Party in order to get elected?

jinx, there's a story about that on BigGovernment.com. They're thinking about putting some moles in the movement. This is hilarious. Hasn't this been talked about before at the DUmp? The DUmmies were going to infiltrate a tea party, and do what exactly? You can't fake the honest sincere beliefs that these people believe in the constitution and accountability. A mole would be so transparent, he would be laughed off a stage. Then rode out on a rail.
BTW and OT: Murtha's seat special election is May 18.
