I'm less likely to consider buying a Volkswagen now because
I am pretty disgusted with that advertisement they have on where the salesman punches the baby in the arm. What were they thinking? And we are, of necessity, in the market for a new car.

16. I haul off and strike others no matter what product I see.

It could be a Volkswagon, or a Hostess donut, or a Toro lawnmower.

2. Buy the car you want and stop watching ads
If the car is a good one get it. Long after an ad with bad taste has been forgotten, the car remains.

7. Yes, it did.
I grew up in a household with a father who was pretty abusive. I don't like seeing this sort of thing portrayed. Period. Child abuse is nothing to joke about.

14. For you maybe.
Just because you are very sensitive to something doesn't mean that everyone else has to be.

Oh FFS.
Those idiots will get offended over ANYTHING.

It's a play on an old game where you would punch a buddy on the arm when you saw a VW Beetle.

I thought it was a slug bug????

And for future reference........you really ought not to slug your g-dad when he is driving, no matter what.  You may not like the outcome.  Jes sayin.

We called it "punch-bug" when I was young. For some unknown reason, lost to the fog of getting old, we also called the Beetle, a beaver.

I've decided not to buy a Subaru because in their commercials they let animals drive without seat belts. In one they even bump another car. Animals could get hurt if they don't wear a seat belt and making them crash is just animal abuse. I'm very sensitive to this kind of thing because when I was a little girl one of my cats got hit by a car.

That's terrible!  And what about that Michelin tire commercial, with all the run-over, dying cartoon animals strewn all over the road?  It's disturbing and cruel.  Were those animals making scale, anyway?

Could be the shape and line definition of the hood?

Besides if the Michelin Man cries and gets emotional every time they sell a tire, he really needs some professional help.
