Did anybody see Bill O last night/early this morning, in the Pinheads and Patriots segment? There was a Family Guy episode that dissed Sarah's son Trig. Truly execrable. Here, the DU discusses it.

Family Guy' Mocks Sarah Palin's Son Trig For Having Down Syndrome
Well, not exactly as the title suggests but still a dig at the former Governor of Alaska.I thought it was hilarious but it may offend some. OBVIOUSLY, she will take to her Facebook page and paint herself out as the victim as usual and demand Fox fire Seth Macfarlane and cancel FAMILY GUY.

1. I love Family Guy
Incorrect humor at it's finest.

7. FOX
Fox refused to let Seth air the now famous "abortion" episode of FAMILY GUY because they fear there would be a boycott.Keep in mind, Rush Limbaugh and Karl Rove will appear in an upcoming episode this season. If anyone lashes out at Family Guy simply remind them Karl and Rush seem to think it's OK to do the show so how bad can it be?
Someone on another wrote this and I felt it was perfect and very well said.
"Regardless as to whether people will find this offensive or not, I'm very happy that McFarlane did it.
Disgraceful.

13. Any "humor" mocking the disabled is offensive.
Why the hell is this acceptable?
Why does anybody think anything mocking the disabled is "hilarious"?
I guess some around here and elsewhere have never been around disabled people.

48. So, I should just shut the hell up? No, it doesn't work that way.
Here's how it runs:
Family Guy runs yet another unfunny joke, this time mocking the disabled.
I find out about it on DU, because as a rule, I don't watch the unfunny.
I get pissed off, and I complain.
Maybe, just maybe one person will take my complaint to heart and not make a joke mocking the disabled (which population by the way includes my child).

22. Seth MacFarlane has officially
made mocking Sarah Palin a national pastime.
If she picks a fight with him...dear God. She will lose, and lose badly.

34. then I really hope she complains loud and often....
because I think people like her underestimate people like Macfarlane. She'll be walking into the funniest trap ever made. If this plays out the way I'm hoping it will, then I hope Bill Maher gets in on some of the action too. He already loves to slam Palin and I would love to see Macfarlane on Real Time again next season.
Oh, that famous liberal compassion.
-
I didn't watch it so can't comment, however if it truly is mocking Trig then they aren't making fun of Sarah Palin are they? They are making fun of a toddler with Down's Syndrome.
Oh yeah that is funny stuff. Really pathetic.

Uh, no DUmmie where were you during the 2008 general election? Every late night hack comedian was making fun of her, and every MSM outlet was doing the same. Yet she is still around showing that she is the bigger person.
-
Ok, I just watched it. Palin should just let this one go as it really wasn't much of anything -- not funny. Kind of meh altogether.

Yeah! He's done far more offensive material than that before.
-
I find it amusing that the DUmmies think that "political comment" by the likes of Jon Stewart and Seth McFarland means a damned thing.
-
Shows just how the oh so compassionate liberals really think, huh? ::)
-
Maybe he's saving his best material for 'The Cleveland Show'.
Probably not.

Sarah Palin :
" People are asking me to comment on yesterday’s Fox show that felt like another kick in the gut. Bristol was one who asked what I thought of the show that mocked her baby brother, Trig (and/or others with special needs), in an episode yesterday. Instead of answering, I asked her what she thought. Here is her conscientious reply, which is a much more restrained and gracious statement than I want to make about an issue that begs the question, “when is enough, enough?â€
Bristol Palin:
“When you’re the son or daughter of a public figure, you have to develop thick skin. My siblings and I all have that, but insults directed at our youngest brother hurt too much for us to remain silent. People with special needs face challenges that many of us will never confront, and yet they are some of the kindest and most loving people you’ll ever meet. Their lives are difficult enough as it is, so why would anyone want to make their lives more difficult by mocking them? As a culture, shouldn’t we be more compassionate to innocent people — especially those who are less fortunate? Shouldn’t we be willing to say that some things just are not funny? Are there any limits to what some people will do or say in regards to my little brother or others in the special needs community? If the writers of a particularly pathetic cartoon show thought they were being clever in mocking my brother and my family yesterday, they failed. All they proved is that they’re heartless jerks. - Bristol Palinâ€

Because it's the child of a Republican political figure.

Exactly! If Trig had been the son of a Biden, every single DUmmy in that thread would have been outraged.

I thought they WERE mocking Joe Biden. :-)

Now, now, now! Trig is smarter than Biden any day of the week! Don't insult him any further!
-
So it's OK to go after the two first daughters now?
No I didn't think so. Only children of republicans can be attacked.

It's okay to call the first children fat, their own mother did.

Yes she did.....and when those girls hit their teenage years and have self-esteem problems...she will wonder why.
I know a woman, who during her childhood and teen years ....she was pudgy. Beautiful...but pudgy. The only one in the family who was....and comments were constantly made by her super-skinny mother and her slender grandmother. She attempted suicide and almost succeeded...when she was 15. Nobody in the famiy could understand why.....

That is tame for Family Guy - Though Im not certain that its mocking Trig as much as indicating that Palin is a Down Syndrome babymaking machine. And even then its assumed since the Palins are never mentioned by name.
Was it crass ? You betcha.
But did I care ? Not really. Sometimes we take ourselves far too seriously, and I think its wrong to go all PC because this time the target of the lampooning is someone we appreciate. Now If he specifically attacked an innocent Down Syndrome child I would have a different opinion.
MacFarlane is a raving moonbat who was educated at RISD - perhaps the moonbattiest school in Rhode Island. And its pretty much a guarantee that when he goes political, its going to be hard left. We should expect it and choose to watch or not, and ultimately his shows ratings will determine his future.

The Palins aren't mentioned by name but how many former governors of Alaska do you know that have a Downs-Syndrome child? All the groups this society considers "protected": blacks, women, Hispanics, Arabs, illegal aliens...every single one has a voice and are capable of speaking for themselves, and they do - daily and ad nauseum. Groups that cannot speak for themselves are special needs people and the unborn. Someone has to speak for those who can't otherwise these kinds of things become okay.

Oh I agree completely - It was directed at Sarah Palin - However, MacFarlane has attacked all of the protected groups of the left with just as much vigor. As a society, we need to stop getting hung up on these things.
Again - If he did go after Trig specifically, I would have a different opinion but he didn't - he created a fiction Down Syndrome person who turned out to be tough as nails instead of the good natured, trusting people they always are.

Here, here! I'd like to castrate the SOB that used that for comedy!
Gimme a frikkin' break, he knew it would cause an uproar and did it anyway. You don't get a pass when you use those that cannot defend themselves!

If it were anyomne else except the Palins I would agre with you. This was below the belt. It's impossible to attach this to anyone else. We all know what he intended. That in itself is just BS! You can make comedy without this kind of crass garbage!
-

...actually, MacFarlane cannot. He's a douche bag, and I've never liked his stupid Family Guy show. Give me the Simpson family any old day.

I watched the episode, and yeah, it was a slam at Palin, but the episode wasn't funny at all really. Some of them are, some ain't, but I have noticed in the last couple years McFarland really going after conservatives. One episode had Stewie and Brian going back in time to WWII Germany and there was a McCain palin button in the SS uniform. They slammed Bush for being a cokehead (when Obama openly admitted it in his books) and of course stupid. The first season was good, slamming Fox news in an episode where Brian goes to work for them, etc. They made fun of Clinton a couple times in the first season, but that's it. That's why I rarely watch the show.
-
I heard if you watch The Family Guy, you double your daily brain cell loss.

I watched the show a couple of times with my brother, and I really didn't think it was funny at all. I think it is just way too over the top for my tastes.

The actress is a person with Down Syndrome. I still think it was deliberate cheap shot at Palin.

How about an episode where Al Gore is found as frozen popsickle in Florida?
