The city will be having a downtown Mardi Gras celebration next Saturday, even though it's central Illinois. WTF? I have no idea what it's like since it's always on Saturday, and I work that day.

AHHHHHH Fat Tuesday, to be in RIO under the moon, running the beach naked as a Jay Bird with hot chicken blood covering my body.
Oh wait that was my Dads fantasy, what can one expect from a knuckle dragging deck Ape.
Moms is to ride a float in Mexico City wearing sequins glued to her body.
Me, a cold drink and a hot man, silk sheets, a fire in the fire place, a bottle of chilled wine, snowing outside and Enya or Lenora playing softly as I gaze with glassy eyes at the lottery ticket that makes me a millionare. Now that is a nice FAT Tuesday.

Ah, but that would require them to acknowledge that there is a religious connection (however nominal it is now) to Mardi Gras. It is much nicer to just make it a party day to bring money to downtown.

Ok, I accept full responsibitlty for this one. It was so nice yesterday after I fired up the 'Cuda I washed both drivers, using spray detailer on the SL. Sorry. I knew it was tempting fate. :uhsure:
I have not yet decided what to give up for lent this year, chocolate maybe? I could stand to lose twenty pounds.... :innocent:

Dry today, but cold.
Still no school tomorrow. 2 hour delays already scheduled for Thurs and Fri. I think there is just too much snow and no where to put it. I know when I drove past the high school yesterday, there was still snow all over all the sidewalks and stairs.

The local ABC station is running tomorrow's closings across the bottom of the screen now, and made me think of you.
The county north of me that borders the TN/KY line....is cancelled again tomorrow. Last night the guy in charge of that county's roads was interviewed.....his wife is a county school teacher there, and he said the kids have not had one full week of school since before Christmas break up there. Those poor kids and teachers are going to be in school til the end of June making up schools days if they don't get back into school soon. :o

Finished with my visit to Herr Doktor earlier today. I made him earn that $25 co-pay... had him cut and burn off a wart that I've had on my hand for about a year. Finally got a referral to see my oplthalmologist. I'll be awol for about a week whenever I get around to scheduling surgery.
