Title: Icy Monday
Post by: Chris on February 15, 2010, 07:57:41 AM
We got a small blanket of ice and snow overnight... enough to make driving into work fun.  No problems other than some Great Big ***** doing 20mph in a Jeep Cherokee.  Weather man says its not supposed to get above freezing today, so it looks like the roads are going to be frozen over until the State gets around to doing something about it.  I managed to break a linkage in my driver-side windshield wiper.

Other than that, it's just Monday.  At least the accounting department is open here even if the banks aren't.  Fun, fun.

Snow, blowing snow, frozen snow.

I give up.

Holiday today, last day of vacation, girding up my loins for work tomorrow, and the approaching snowstorm.  Nothing approaching DC levels, but it is the first stuff we've had in several weeks.  4-8 inches predicted.

Called HSA company because they're idiots and can't figure out that when I order multiple prescriptions with different prescription numbers on the same order, it is NOT a duplicate claim.  Have to call back tomorrow.

Other than that, quiet day, maybe play some poker tonight, and then back to the grind.

Another cold morning, with a couple more inches of snow overnight. No temperatures above the high 20' forecast for the next week.  :censored: Owl Bore.

We had a dusting of snow, that seems to be mostly melted, but the wind is picking up and it's supposed to get colder. Possibly more snow tonight. It's very wet out, so it's sure to all freeze.

Snow, blowing snow, frozen snow.

I give up.

Heard the weather guy on GMA say the snow that you all are getting on top of existing snow is "to freshen up what's there".....made me think of you. Somehow I didn't think you were looking at it quite the same way.

Nope, no, not, nope, nada, I'm not seeing it that way at all, madam.

Sunny day here with no work  :-)  First day of Orthodox Lent as well.  I have no idea what I'm going to do today, but I suspect that it may have to do with going through paperwork.  I'm planning on filing my taxes today, and I figure while I'm at it I might as well make sure that all my other paperwork is nicely organized.

I have some ideas...they involve peeled grapes and massages...

(kidding!)

How's the ankle?

I still can't walk on it.  Not being able to do stuff has made me very cranky.  I fell about a week after my surgery, and I really suspect that I jammed one of my toes in the process, because the bruising is still pretty bad near my toes.

Ow.  Sorry--what does the doc say?  Maybe I'm losing track of time but I would have thought you could put SOME weight on it.  Then again, my aunt recently broke her ankle and she's been told to stay off it for six MONTHS.

I can stand on it some with the crutches, which is nice, but not very useful  :p

It snowed a little yesterday, we had about an inch accumulation on the vehicles, trees, grass, etc, but it melted right away. While coming home from closing up a Mexican Birthday party that we rented out the VFW Hall for, I hit two patches of black ice. The first one I was lucky and nothing happened. The second one almost threw me into a vehicle travelling on the opposite side of the road. I had some plans for today, but then I realized it's Presidents Day, so the major plans I had went into the shitter.
