Jay Rockefeller: Obama 'Beginning To Be Not Believable To Me'
Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-W.V.) lashed out Friday against the Obama Administration's stance on environmental policy and coal power, an economic staple for West Virginia.
According to Rockefeller, there has been a disconnect between Obama's accepting rhetoric toward coal mining and coal power and the president's actual policies regarding West Virginia's official state rock.
"He says 'I'm for clean coal,' and then he says it in his speeches, but he doesn't say it in here," said Sen. Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia. "And he doesn't say it in the minds of my own people. And he's beginning to not be believable to me."

1. Well Senator, with all due respect, I hope Obama is lying through his teeth about "clean coal." As a native West Virginian, I find your commitment to dirty MTR despicable.

2. Me: As a West Virginian, I've found Rocky to be a dishonest coal co. stooge for decades and his hysterical whining about the EPA is based solely on the fact that Lisa Jackson won't rubberstamp every mountaintop removal permit like the Boosh/Cheney non-regulators did
As usual, our senior senator, Robert C. Byrd, is the real leader;

3. He's not a coal co. stooge - his family owns the coal cos.
Which is why he sits as Senator in that State.

6. Byrd CAN afford be honest
Don't think there's any chance he can be knocked off.
Everybody else IMO is in the crosshairs.
The GOP knows that Obama polls badly in WV so they are going to try to use the whole coal issue to try to scare WV'ians that the WV political reps are going to take their jobs away.
But I totally agree with you Adenoid that all the Obama admin is doing is enforcing the damn law, and really just barely doing THAT.
But I think with the political situation here they are running for cover.
Also maybe Rockefeller himself in sort of calling out Obama on this rather than keeping his mouth shut is the result of Obama not really pushing for the public option that would have helped WV. So far Obama hasn't really pushed thru anything other than the stimulus that the Dems can point to that helps them or him politically in WV and I think the stimulus while good was a loser for Obama. It had to be scaled back to the point most of the public can't really see it HAS helped but at the same time the GOP has played up the cost and the deficit so what should have been a political plus is a minus for him.

5. another pot meet kettle. Rockefeller hasn't exactly been consistent either-not necessarily on this topic, but others.
Seems to be a genetic affliction of all politicians - ease of lying, love of money, no problem with cognitive dissonance.
