WTF?  If these guards aren't there to provide protection, then what are they being paid for?  If they   had not been there, some passerby might have called for police quicker.

They're justifying it by claiming all they're paid to do is, "observe and report."  Then again, 20 years ago, they would have stopped it, THEN reported it.

More PC feel-good liberalism in action.

Apparently, they are now going to have armed deputies there, and are going to review their policy.

It's Seattle--they'll spend a shitload of money "reviewing" it, then won't change a thing.

That town is just San Francisco with grunge music.

What was changed in Richmond CA after that gang rape in front of the high school?

If they acted like that today, they will get sued. A catch-22 if you think about it. The victim's family can sue too.

If the guards were to restrain the attacker they could be civilly liable and be arrested for assaulting a minor which could even land them on a sex offender list.

No, I'm not bullshitting.

Those are the laws the same public that is supposedly outraged has allowed to take hold. They have the society they want.

20 years ago they didn't have cameras pointing at them that will get them sued if they touch the perp.

SEATTLE -- A 15-year-old girl accused of beating and robbing another girl in a downtown Seattle bus tunnel while security guards stood by pleaded not guilty Thursday in Juvenile Court.
said the assault occurred after a group of 10-12 teenagers and young adults were creating a disturbance at Nordstrom in which an 18-year-old threatened to kill a 15-year-old girl.

After the group was told to leave the store, they followed the girl into the transit tunnel where one of the girls in the group, also 15, attacked the victim and pushed her into the rail and bus right of way, police said.

She is one of four people charged with robbery in connection with the beating. Detectives arrested three more suspects on Feb. 6 – 20-year-old Latroy D. Hayman, 18-year-old Domanique L. Whitaker and 18-year-old Tyrone J. Watson.
“I can't feel sorry for my daughter because those are her actions,” she said. “If she's convicted of this, you know she'll have to deal with things on her own. Hopefully she's sorry for what she's done also."
