Boo. 17 degrees this morning and no sunshine for the weekend, but only flurries predicted for the next 3 days.

We got a foot of snow here, which is record breaking. We were advised to come in when we felt it was safe to do so, but that it didn't mean taking the day off work. I am in quite a conundrum, as even yesterday it took me 1.5 hours to get to work and back, when it usually takes 30-45 minutes. I imagine it is going to be worse today, and quite frankly I don't want to mess up my new car on these roads. So.....I am hanging at the house till 9 or 10 or so and see what happens. The majority of schools are closed.
At any rate, it gives me some hours to get my laundry done, and I am about to put together a bean soup in the crock pot. So, either way I will have a good dinner.

I went into work, and there wasn't much to do, and the foreman is on vacation, so.......I'm back home. (It took me less than a 1/2 hour to go there and come back home. :tongue: )

I walk to work and it takes less than ten minutes each way depending on traffic.

Kids are STILL out of school.
The director at dance it twitching because the girls have missed a week of rehearsals, and they have 2 pieces that need to be as perfect as possible in 3 weeks. So she scheduled them for today. All day. At least it gets the girl-child out of the house!
Since Mr Flame has been on vacation ALL week, and we didn't get any "us" time like we were hoping, we are going out today, just us, and going to lunch at least. I love my kids, but they are driving me insane.
Still need to work on uncovering the other 2 cars, but I'm not doing it today.

Got a call late yesterday afternoon from my bass trombone (and tuba, and euph) repair guy up in Iowa. The rest bar for the bass trombone didn't come in.
So we postponed and, if the weather cooperates, will travel up there next Friday with Mrs. E. (That's the best part.)
This was serendipitous. Woke up this morning at 4:45 to a couple inches of snow on the ground and increasing steadily.
I love Fridays. I work just until 11 a.m., then it's off to Lowe's to get an ice scraper for the sidewalk. They're delivering a Sole treadmill on Monday and a Body Solid home gym tomorrow.
I gotta do something about my fat ass..... :p

Flame, a garden hose hooked to the water heater can get rid of snow quickly.

Typical February weather for here...low- to mid-30's during the day, upper teens at night, but no snow in sight. There are actually bare patches in my yard. The horror, the horror! Going to pick up the wonder-mutt in a few minutes and kick him around for a while until I have to go to a shop party one of the guys is throwing tonight.

I have a meeting with one of the attorney's I work with today. Somebody else made a mistake because I forgot to update the default option on a form :censored: He sent out an e-mail saying "we need to discuss this internally tomorrow" :censored: That just sounds ominous, even though he is a very nice guy to work with. Hopefully we can meet early in the morning so that I don't have to stress.
Other than that, work is good. I got a special project yesterday, which makes me feel important :-) And I have a 3 day weekend coming up :-)

Payroll is fubar'd... I was supposed to get paid today since Monday is a holiday. And my eye is all messed up and swollen. I'll be glad to get to a doctor next week.
Other than that, it's Friday. Woo hoo.

Eh, we get that all the time here. Our accounts have a lot of special settings on them that get overlooked from time to time. I wouldn't sweat it.

My son went back to school today after the 2 day closure -- of course he also now has a 3 DAY WEEKEND this weekend due to President's Day. Do kids actually GO to school anymore?? :old:

Up to 32 here with a chill in the 20's. The snow to the south of us is supposed to be coming in, but hasn't started yet here at my house. More coming in tomorrow from a different front, and supposed to be something Sunday/Monday that they keep switching from snow to rain and back and forth....now it's both.
Still waiting to hear if the offers I wrote on Monday are going to work. :banghead:
Think I'm going to go "play" in my kitchen here in a bit.....

Thanks Deb! I saw it. I believe I will make it this weekend. Daggum. Had everything but the apple pie filling. Thought I had some, but made an apple crisp a while back.

Do you have any fresh or canned apples?
If you have fresh, slice them up and saute them in some butter, sugar, a bit of apple juice, cinnamon and a bit of ground clove until tender. With canned, you could just drain them a bit and use as is, or cook same as the fresh.

Heh. Didn't even check. Sure enough, I do. I am going to divide the recipe in half, in order to conserve my egg and milk resources until I go to the store tomorrow.

Have a sausage/onion/mushroom/cheddar strata resting on the counter. It has to sit for minimum 2 hours, I can put it in the oven at 6.
M's already been in here twice wanting to know if it's time to go in the oven yet.... :whatever:

I've been wanting corned beef and cabbage lately. And thinking about a lamb stew.... :drool:

And the other happenings for the day was my CT Myelogram. It wasn't near as bad as I expected. They did give me a sedative. I guess that helped, but I wasn't asleep or knocked out. The suckiest thing is that I have to sleep in a recliner tonight. No bed. Something about the contrast dye getting up into my brain. I got the CD. It looks ugly in my cervical spine, very ugly. There's even a piece of bone floating around in there. :o
Next step, back to the spine doctor and probably some surgery.
