Hi Folks,
I am a member of the Sovereign Society and get a daily newsletter. Today's had an article by Bob Bauman, an attorney and former congressman. This is some scary stuff because there is no accountability or oversight that I can see.

Sounds about right. I would want nothing less from a CinC.
Of course the key is to only elect presidents who are sincere patriots and not power-mad grievance-hustlers with delusions of grandeur...

My problem with this issue is not the right.......but the lack of accountability and oversight. This is one time I would want several signatures on a sheet of paper authorizing any action like this from both political parties.
Hell the head of the Homeland Security agency said former military and tea party goers were potential terrorists. That fact alone should scare the hell out of most people!
The way I read it is someone comes to the president with a request. So the head of homeland security says bunnies are terrorists and we have to get the head bunny. President says yeah I read what that guy writes in the conservative cave, indeed he is a terrorist bunny, go for it!
And bingo you get a poison carrot.......
Naaaah, i just do not like the idea of that at all.

I just want to make sure everyone understands the magnitude of this power. Suppose you, the lead bunny, gets the poison carrot.
Newspaper headline reads, "TOP BUNNY ASSINATED WITH POISON CARROT, SUSPECT IS TOP MUSLIM." Then the next thing you know there would be a bill introduced in congress to cancel easter and thousands of little kids would be devastated. Then the democrats, showing true leadership, would once again try to appease the muslims and offer to change the symbol of easter to a camel.... Then the Mexican groups would riot because they want the donkey and their premise was they were here first ahead of the muslims. Muslims counter with press 1 for Arabic, press 8 for Spanish....and the libs would not know what to do. Meanwhile all bunnies go into hiding because the president establishes a new bunny police and all bunny sympathisers are required to wear special, highly visible tattoos.
This is serious! We cannot allow this to happen.

I had read an article about this a couple of weeks, but it expressly said that this applies only to citizens acting with terrorist organizations in other countries. If that is the case, then this is almost a necessity for the military to be able to act against any groups in other countries that may have recruited US citizens.

On a serious note, I have no problem with it as long as there is oversight. Clinton used the IRS and FBI to gather dirt on his political opponents, that is an abuse of power. Lord knows what is coming next.

Oversight from who? This admin considers TEA protesters and pro-lifers to be terrorists. There will be no oversight, just cheerleading.

OK 5412, over 20 year's ago one of my neighbors was picked up by some government agency for some crime that was never publicized. Never reported to the press.
Seems he had years ago been involved with some kind of crime cartel and the government offered him and family the protection program for his testimony. He refused.
From day one he was in solitary, his family wife or kids could not have any communication with him. He was not allowed a lawyer except for one that was a government employee.
His family and his wife's came from influential family's but it did no good When the wife's father went to a friend the GOVERNER he was told that as much as he wanted to help this was now Federal---out of his hands.
For over 30 days this neighbor was in jail, no actual lawyer and no contact with family. And NO CHARGES. If one is arrested and jailed with no actual charges and the Feds are in charge, what is one to do.?
I am not sure what happend next, I did get a report that the neighbor decided to testify, He, wife who was 7 months pregnant and both sets of in laws headed out to the south west for some kind of trial that he would testify against whoever the government wanted to put down.
Strange as as he got on the stand all power failed. His wife had a blanket thrown over her and escorted to a safe place, he was quickly removed from the court room leaving both sets of parents to hide under their chairs.
He returned home later with no explanation , went on to CEO a company, his wife teaches school now.
Some think all this could never happen to them, they forget that their kids-- in laws and grandkids can drag you into a nightmare.
Woe be to the person that lives a God fearing good life. Woe to these folks that have no fear of the Government or police as their EGO is so strong they really believe that if their actions and heart are pure they are protected.
5412, there are presidential decrees about terrorists and gangsters that are seldom used. BUT, when this is used, there will be no publicity, the family's will be too shell shocked or worried about getting involved and being themselves locked up and afraid to call the press.
The laws are there to be used in just a few cases. but, they are there.
When they come for you my friend I will back you as it is only time before they come for me, mine , my family that I have nothing to do with their life style.
We need to realise that a search on -presidental pappers started with FDR has run through all presidents since, that sign a paper and seldom check what they are signing. The number of federal laws that overcome states rights are breathtaking.

It only applies overseas, and puts them in the same class as people who are valid targets but not citizens, with all the hidebound layers of oversight that has already. Which means if Humdehum al-Amerikiya is standing nest to Osama in the Predator viewfinder, we don't have to wait for him to leave before lighting up a Hellfire on both their asses. Fine with me.
