...how Palin joked about Obama needing to use a telepromter during his speeches.
I guess being the Governor of Alaska doesnt pay much, if you have to resort to scribbling crib notes in your hand with a $1.25 Bic pen.

FAIL. Only a libtard can't see the difference between a few words in a one hour speech, and two teleprompters (and a podium) for a 15 MINUTE speech in a SIXTH GRADE classroom.

Then again, we all know what happens without Mr. teleprompter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=of61E1FesPU
Riddle me this, batshit- if Palin is so ineffective, why are you dummies foaming at the mouth every time she speaks?

:rotf:....for years I made notes on my hand...the only way I wouldn't loose them.

Oops, I was wrong. The classroom speech was only SIX minutes long.

I'm not a liberal, by any stretch of the word, but I can't help but to appluad in utter agreement with this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVjNVPsL5EY
Pretty much, in a nutshell, who gives a shit if Obama uses a teleprompter. It's obviously much more viable and professional (and needless to say more effective) than jotting crib notes on the palm of your hand.
-

And absolutely necessary for him. Without it, he can't remember anything, stutters, stumbles, and says "UH". A lot. The man can't speak to sixth graders without a written speech AND a teleprompter. It's no wonder he never speaks to the press anymore. :lmao: :lmao:
Palin, on the other hand, is able to give a fantastic speech with 6 words written down. She's smart, competant, better at her job, and better at speaking.
I find it amusing that so many fear her so greatly that they must search frantically for a few minor points...and expound on them endlessly. :lmao: :lmao:
-

Who gives a shit if Palin writes on her hand?
As for teleprompters, it is not professional. A teleprompter is a tool, like crib notes. The speaker still has to KNOW his entire speech, not read from the prompter/notes. (And not fumble when it stops working.)
-
Yes, but can she correctly pronounce the word "corpsman?"
-
Gov. Palin spoke for forty minutes at the event in question. She must have some really BIG hands, or her speech was written really REALLY small on her palm.
Hey, Idiot: A "To-Do List" does not compare with a teleprompted speech. Get over it. Sarah Palin is three times the man that the Oval Office's Obsidian Orator will ever be.
-
Yes, but can she correctly pronounce the word "corpsman?"
I bet she even knows that we only have 50 states too.
-
Obama is a good reader...impromptu speaker... :rotf:...not so good.
-
I find it funny
...how Palin joked about Obama needing to use a telepromter during his speeches.
You must be very easily amused. You don't see a difference between seven one-word topic prompts (One of which appears to perhaps be crossed out) for a forty minute speech, and a guy who can't speak extemporaneously for more than five minutes and has to read everything longer line-by-line from a prepared script like a Disney automaton?

Not when the teleprompter goes down or has the wrong stuff on it. We've seen that, like a Pavlovian dog, Obama will read whatever flashes before his eyes or stumble and fail epically when it doesn't work at all.
Writing notes on your hand only fails if you lose your hand on the way to the speech, and since you are writing on your own hand, you don't have to worry about miscues.
From what I remember in high school speech class, the best notes are brief and only to jog your memory while speaking.

Hell Obama will read whatever is on the teleprompter whether it is true or not just like when he read that he met Michelle in college. :lmao:
-
Palin's teleprompter broke during her speech at the convention. Could you imagine the inanities that would have spewed from the Reader of the Free World if HIS teleprompter zotzed out?
And 0-bama uses a teleprompter to speak to students.
10 words on a palm =/= using a teleprompter in a classroom setting.
Face it. Palin's smarter.

I find it funny how people find the dumbest shit to "find funny" especially when we are in the middle of the mess we are in. So friggin what she had a few notes on her hand. Wtf is the big deal? I doubt she can fit a 60 min speech on her hand when the great Dumbo must have a teleprompter word for word and then blunders on major statements that a kindergartner should know. Example... when he said he has traveled to 57 states..... yeah, brilliant.
I get so tired of the petty bs back and forth. I get tired of the Palin haters who have no comprehension of how to measure a good individual with character.
Why dont Americans try something new for a change, think for yourself and then lets fix the real problems.
-
I find it funny how Palin joked about Obama needing to use a telepromter during his speeches.
There. That's all you should have said. The rest of what you wrote was crap and made you look stupid.
.
-
It's quite obvious that our new member, Aep, has never taken a public speaking course. Cue cards, notes, etc. are allowed and often recommended for a speaking engagement. The teleprompter is an entire speech, written out for an individual. Which, in your opinion, Aep, requires more brain power?? So what if Palin is a little old school??
-
I'm not a liberal, by any stretch of the word, but I can't help but to appluad in utter agreement with this:
Yes you are a liberal and yes you are an idiot, find another board to turd in, please.

This has been soundly rebutted so I'll leave it alone.
Pretty much, in a nutshell, who gives a shit if Obama uses a teleprompter.
Look, moron, obviously you care or you wouldn't be wasting our time. And please don't jump on the "we're mean because we insulted you", or "we're stomping on your right to free speech by not listening to you", or the time tested "nananana-I-can't-hear-you-cause-my-fingers-are-in-my-ears". Just realise your wrong and go away.

What I think we are missing here is the fact that Sara never made a point to hide her palm, in fact kind of called attention to it.
This I believed was contrived to be seen, it makes her more like most of us, gives us a mental link to her. Say, this woman is just like the rest of us.
She is coming off as one of us, not a standoffish who cares about you leadership.
Really a most brilliant idea, remember the old " Talk to the hand".?
Her advisers are top notch, people will be reminded of her through jokes and personal experience. Makes her a lot more human then some dude reading off a teleprompter.
-

You make it sound like a design, which really makes it creepy and about on par with some democrat trash. I'm sure that was your intention.
I don't buy it. Gov. Palin doesn't need an architect in order to appear spontaneous. Sarah Palin genuinely is "one of us", thank God.
-
I'm surprised not one person here has brought up the scene from "Anchorman":
Ron Burgundy:"You stay classy, San Diego?"
News Director: "Dammit, who put that on Burgundy's teleprompter, you know he'll say whatever it says on there!"
-

I didnt read what the man said and take it the way you did. Actually I tend to agree with what he said and some of what you say to Palin being "one of us". My point being that any contender whether political, in sports or even in business, when you have an edge or advantage you use it. Its common sense, not creepy. It aids in validating the very point that she is practical and down to earth or otherwise as you said "one of us".
Personally, I love Palin. She is a great force politically and is quite honestly being turned into an icon and all of that is great. Yet sometimes when I read statements such as yours when they come across to me as being so defensive about the individual, that actually is what scares me. Palin is wonderful but not untouchable. She is practical but yet still flawed. She has a strong movement and momentum but still has many weaknesses. If we cannot see that then we are the ones that are blind. You have to understand that when we can observe the frailties of an individual and more importantly the individual, in this case Palin, when she can see them as well, they only become stronger and a better contender for what they are attempting to accomplish.
While I love Palin as a contender and while I would vote for her, I cannot say that I would completely trust her yet. Earning my trust can only come after seeing them in office for a couple years. Anyone can say anything. Yet what impresses me about Palin is the course she has set, what she gave up to be where she is, how she has handled the intense firestorm from the left and now the leadership she is presenting. All of this proves she has character. How she will use it on the other hand is still yet to be proven and tested.
I do not follow a label of Democrat or Republican. I am a firm Constitutionalist and a dedicated Three Percenter, what I want to see in any candidate is what Palin is showing now, character. She has my vote at the present moment, lets just hope that she can become a George Washington rather than a deadly John Mccain.

Oh bullshit. Making crib notes on your hand and reading EVERYTHING you say to anyone...even first graders and a "Middle Class Task Force" from two glass panels with others words...not yours coming from your head and your heart but a script...is a long way from what Palin did.
This little troll crept in here in the middle of the night to bash conservatives an slyly call us hypocrites...you included.
Swoop and poop is all this idiot is.

Perhaps I should have put a quote withing a quote because I think your attacking me for the wrong reason completely. I am not agreeing with the troll. I was referring to vestas comment and the one that I did quote in my previous post....
Not sure where your coming from unless you thought I was agreeing with the originally poster... In that case perhaps you should see my first post on this whole thread.
The whole thing of making notes on her hand... so friggin what... who cares. I believe the whole media outlet is nothing but a school yard child crying about Palin... Get over it is what I say. My point had nothing to do with the hand note... My comment had all to do with the person I quoted and the person they quoted. Thats it.
So whats your point?

It was the second time when she wrote "Hi Mom!". Of course, she was just poking fun at the media and the loonies out there.
-
Aep, there is a big difference between writing a few words on your hand to stay on topic when public speaking and reading entire speeches from a teleprompter. You have succeeded in calling attention to your savior...but you FAILED to make it positive attention.
Try again.

Palin Delivers Sparkle, Warmth
by Tony Blankley (http://townhall.com/columnists/TonyBlankley/2010/02/10/palin_delivers_sparkle,_warmth?page=full&comments=true)
...{many stats on the horror of O's budget}...
Americans rightly believe that we can build anything that needs building and fix anything that is broken. And, that we can do that by living out our nation's founding principles and values: constitutional government, respect for private property and life, a free market -- and the gumption of hard-working, inventive Americans.
Those are the principles and spirit that Sarah Palin articulated with sparkle and sincerity last weekend. Those are the principles that have brought the Tea Party movement into being. They are the same principles that inspired the conservative movement that arose in the 1950s-60s.
...
But the smarty pants who have driven America into the ditch by discarding traditional American values and principles should be cautious in writing off the most effective national advocate for such values precisely at the time that leftist programs have so conspicuously failed and outraged the public.

Ok, so ah...the big ZERO gives a little speech to a group of first grade SIX YEAR-OLDS at their school. There stands lord ZERO, with a complete podium standing THREE FEET ABOVE the kids using two teleprompters giving a speech on international finance and justification for the multi-TRILLION DOLLAR debt he has created to "save the nation" - to SIX YEAR OLD CHILDREN!!!
****! If you can't figure that out, the you need to pull 0bama's dick out of your mouth and come up for air.

I really did not clarify anything in my post to you. All it really takes is the ability to see and understand a conversation and where it is coming from. I was quoting and referring to the post above me that I also quoted from, I am not sure how more clear it can get.
But anyway.

the following quotes are so dumb they must be from a liberal. Conservatives are much smarter.
"[T]hey're in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom." A political canditate after being asked by a third grader what the vice president does.
"I think on a national level your Department of Law there in the White House would look at some of the things that we've been charged with and automatically throw them out." referring to a department that does not exist while attempting to explain why as president she wouldn't be subjected to the same ethics investigations that compelled her to resign as governor of Alaska.
And last but not least and still my favorite.
"As Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where– where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border." explaining why Alaska's proximity to Russia gives her foreign policy experience.

What do you know, do a little bit of research and sure enough, Alaska has a Department of Law:

Yeah, now that Taco Bell is paying minimum wage of $7.25 an hour now, I'm sure he's a shoo-in to sort beans.
(Billy, you have to remove the small rocks that are in the beans.)

some guy that's parked in the White House uses one too.

:rotf: A 5- or 6-word outline of a lengthy speech is equivalent to a teleprompter feeding speeches and talking points line by line, word-by-word? :rotf: That doesn't even rise to the level of being merely absurd. :rotf:

Hi,
Here is one for you from her book. The great speech she gave at the RNC was off the top of her head, her teleprompter malfunctioned as she was starting the speech and she had practiced it so many times she just gave it without missing a beat.
Of course BO, with his superior intellect could easily do the same thing.
