As always, the death of a traitor is a cause for mourning at the DUmp. Most of the time, it includes the suspicion that we Repukes gave the Grim Reaper a helping hand:

WTF? Murtha's Gallbladder "Nicked" In Surgery?
Not sure if I need tin foil or not???
http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/02/08/john.murtha.obit...
"The Democratic congressman recently underwent scheduled laparoscopic surgery at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, to remove his gallbladder. The procedure was "routine minimally invasive surgery," but doctors "hit his intestines," a source close to the late congressman told CNN.
Murtha was initially hospitalized in December and had to postpone a hearing with Defense Secretary Robert Gates on the administration's strategy in Afghanistan. The congressman returned to work after a few days in the hospital and helped oversee final passage of the 2010 defense appropriations bill.
Murtha had a "tough-as-nails reputation" and a "passion for service," President Obama said in a written statement. He was "a steadfast advocate for the people of Pennsylvania" and "a respected voice on issues of national security," Obama said."
Do I? (Need a "hat")

1. If he had done this in a country with socialized health care, he'd still be alive.
He woulda had it done in Romania if he could have afforded it.

14. No not always deadly. In a 77 year old the risks increase.
Sue? Go ahead. The burden is to prove negligence, not to just describe a bad outcome. Death is always a risk, and we can assume there was informed consent. Whether anyone pays attention to the risks is another question altogether. This happens in countries with socialized medicine as well.

15. Not likely
Surgical procedures, like cancer, is one of those areas where US medicine is really top notch compared to the rest of the world. There are some procedures and illnesses where you would be a fool to get it done anywhere but the US if you cared about success rates (I have no idea if this is one those).
The reality is that surgery is dangerous and medical errors kill a couple hundred thousand people per year in the US. Shit happens.

22. Not likely - Murtha had good health insurance - we paid for it
socialized doesn't mean fool proof
DUmmy ohiodemocrat has inside information. He knows the same people who worked on Murtha did the JFK autopsy:

6. The surgery took place in the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda
Does any other suspicious Bethesda procedure on a Democrat come to mind?

17. So an inunendo of conspiracy upon a decorated Marine? C'mon.
No sentence should include "decorated Marine" when talking about Murtha. The Marines are the most honorable and efficient fighting force in the world, but they make rare mistakes in personnel. Both Murtha and Lee Harvey Oswald were Marines.

9. No, they removed his gallbladder and nicked his bowel
The nick might have been microscopic but that looks like an open barn door to bacteria.
Working on the inside of a human body is not like working on a car. Everything is crammed in there and even inflating the body cavity with CO2 doesn't increase the operating space much.
While this is an uncommon complication, it's certainly not unheard of. Laparoscopic surgery decreases recovery time but it does increase the risk of damage to adjacent organs.
So take the tinfoil off. While extremely regrettable that they didn't get to him to start antibiotics soon enough, this isn't the stuff of conspiracy, just a terrible accident during a lifesaving procedure.

13. A surgical misadventure. In that physicians are not perfect...
these things do happen. It's not nice, not frequent, not the way things should be, but it does happen in some very small number of cases. To keep this in perspective, they did not remove the wrong limb or organ, nor did they operate on the wrong person. If a general surgeon does 4 cases per day, three days a week, that's around 600 per year, and after twenty years, 12000, etc. Shit does happen.
Sue away, the question is whether this is negligence. Shit does happen.
I will now take abuse from all of the perfect world.

16. Tell it an airline pilot..how many flights do you think they make in 20 years?
The difference between doctors and airline pilots is that doctors get to live with their mistakes while airline pilots don't get the chance.

23. This is why the Repukes calls for "tort reform" need to be silenced NOW.
I don't speak for the Murtha family, but if something like this happened to my dad, the first person I would call after the funeral would be a lawyer.

This is why you can't have a rational discussion with liberals. Look up the definition of 'tort reform' you dumb cocksucker.

No kidding.
Tort reform doesn't mean that you can't sue for malpractice. It means you can't sue for exorbitant amounts.

If they get their government run healthcare there will be no lawsuits.

Wait, does that mean that John Edwards and other leeches will be out of business? Bring it on. :evillaugh:

That's not the way I heard it. I understood the lawyers were well cared for in the short and long term.

There will be no legislation passed by the Congress that doesn't take care of lawyers today, lawyers tomorrow, and lawyers yet unborn.

So does this mean we get to see reruns of "WHO KILLED JOHM MURTHA " on the history channel now?

This little snippet brings to mind one of the more tiresome aspects of the leftards. Since the 60's, in their chants and signs, it's always "blah blah blah WE NEED blah blah blah NOW!" Can there be a less persuasive argument? It never fails to bring an eyeroll to my face. I don't care what you think you "need."
And BTW, Sebastian, you of the fruity name. Who the hell do you think you are to want to silence me or anybody else? "Silence them NOW" indeed. Go to hell, I'll say what I want.

Lawyers should not be allowed to hold public office...for the same reason felons aren't allowed to vote.
-
felons will be allowed to vote if the left gets their way.
They should know by now that the BFEE killed Murtha.

Bush has been out of office for over a year and he is still killing off dems :mental:

Obama using the term "Corpseman" was planted in the teleprompter speech by Lord Rove as a secret signal for the Navy doctors to do the "dirty deed".
OK...so I need more practice before I can post in the DUmp 9/11 section...gimme a break.

Murtha has become a pain in the butt. Make him a corpse, man
. Very possible!! Obama is half Bush and a deep undercover part of the BFEE??
-
When Obama tells people that doctors pull out tonsils and amputate limbs just to make a buck no wonder the primitives think that the doctors could murder Murtha.
-
As a former 'Corpse Man' I can tell you that Bethesda has some of the finest Navy Docs in the world. They would not loose a good Marine.
Murtha on the other hand........

But when Obama says forget that operation and take a pill. Thats compassion.

That's what I was thinking. Murtha had certainly out lived his usefulness as far as I'm concerned. They should have just given him a pill and sent him back to the "home".

Just when I think the DUmmies hit a new low of stupidity, they dig a new basement.

WTF? Murtha's Gallbladder "Nicked" In Surgery?
Three cheers for Nick!!!! :cheersmate:
.
-
I make a sincere effort to remember that people like Murtha had family members that loved them, and I try to keep my celebrations to myself.
Having said that, when I think about the way he called our brave Marines "murderers", and the damage he did to the war effort with his non-stop denunciations of our military, well, kudos to whomever nicked the intestine, though I'm sure it was accidental.
-
But when Obama says forget that operation and take a pill. Thats compassion.
Oddly enough, if they had told him that instead of treating him under the supercharged mega-Cadillac plan Congress has to itself, the fat bastard would probably still be alive. Go figure.
-
Good luck suing that Military doctor. I think it would be a good lesson for the DUmmies to push this. Let them see what really happens when their Socialized Medicine comes about.
