Medical rescue personnel told the newspaper there were at least two fatalities, and at least 100 people injured — including four in critical condition.
Things I've seen elsewhere suggest that these figures are very preliminary, with unpleasant updates likely.

No reason for the explosion yet????
My sympathies for the families, friends and neighbors of all effected by this tragedy.....

No reason for the explosion yet?
Natural gas.
No, I'm not kidding.

Kleen Energy is a customer of ours; I was talking to their rep earlier today and he's pretty worried about some of the people he talks to.

I caught up with some youtube footage. It is hard to believe that only two people have died, but let's hope that there are no more deaths. Sympathies to familes and friends of the workers.

The Yahoo! News article I saw said 14 injured, with multiple fatalities.

That is terrible! :( Prayers.

Gang, this had to have been a big plant, with serious capacity. I've been inside a 7 mW "peaker" plant which comes on only when demand is highest (and the power company can get the most for the electricity generated, maybe an hour a month average). It's the size of a 45-foot long trailer pulled by a Volvo or a Mack (trucks). It's a gas turbine--essentially, a jet engine. Completely automated--it can be turned on by a computer command 50 miles away.
This thing was big.
ETA: 620 mW, from a link to Kleen Energy's web site.
