THE SKIDMARKED UNDERWEAR PRIMITIVE
Original message
Taking a break from working on 2009 tax forms and suppressing a scream.
Last year, my husband's income increased by $800. Of course the bareboned essential expenditures we had more than outstripped that. We have no dependents to claim. Less than $300 in interest on savings accounts (why bother?). Right now our mortgage is our child, I guess, since we can claim interest on it. Our income will decline by that same $800+ this next year since he is subject to mandatory furlough days now, an agreement arrived at by the union at his place of employment to preserve jobs. So we've flatlined yet again.
We don't mind paying our fair share. I guess I just wanted to comment on what a struggle it is to not to have to pay in more at the end of the year on so little income. And I was thinking about how little we seem to have purchased with what we pay in each year. Keerist, we can't even afford to buy ourselves a legislator to go to bat for us. Infrastructure crumbling and services being shut down. And our government is being sold to the highest bidder, all of whom screech at the possibility of having to pay in a little more on maximum profits. And here we turnips all sit working our way through the forms while trying to preserve the basics of shelter and food so that others, including our legislators, can preserve lifestyles. Lordy, I haven't even gotten to healthcare or anything fancy. Is healthcare a lifestyle? It must be.
Brand new campfire; no primitives have noticed it yet.
Tough shit for the skidmarked underwear primitive, the unhappy world-weary disconsolate late-middle-aged farmwife from eastern Iowa, who four years ago on Skins's island said she wished to see more bullying and violence against Republican candidates for office.

Liberals have no right to bitch about taxes. They are the ones who love taxing the other guy so they need to pay their "fair share" and STFU.
-
They all claim to pay their "fair" share and then go on to say how little they have so I guess that means their share is pretty small.
Why do they want the benefits given to them that would come with paying a much larger share, they are simply getting the "fair" result from their contribution. :-)

These days that's pretty good. At 1%, this DUmmie has 30 grand in the bank? What are folks getting for savings account interest these days?
-
If they can get over the standard MFJ deduction to itemize based just on taxes withheld/paid plus mortgage interest, they can't be too damned badly off, Jeeze! Also, DUmmie, take a look at Schedule M this year, assuming from all the union bullcrap means he's a wage-earner, that'll brighten up your sour puss.

Maybe just maybe she needs to pay more in taxes, that oughtta get the road paved.

They can't believe how unfair it is to pay their own. Fair is supposed to be you paying theirs.
