Title: Oreo Cakesters???
Post by: Lauri on March 10, 2008, 09:39:00 PM
so.. its PMS time and I sent my husband out to shoot and kill some chocolate for me. I didnt really specify what he should drag back, although I did say Chunky Monkey ice cream would make me feel better.

I do not travel this aisle at the grocery store, and I had no idea these even existed.

Oreo cakesters are a gift from God cause he loves us..

ok ladies, what hits the spot during PMS.. ?

 <-- we need an emoticon eating ice cream. preferably Chunky Monkey.

Anything with chocolate. Preferably DARK chocolate.   :-)  Chocolate is definitely the ultimate PMS survival food.

There is this type of chocolate, by the French company Valhrona, called Manjari, that is absolutely fantastic.  It has this rush of raspberries to it that I really like.  It's 70% cacao, which is just below my threshold of how dark I like my chocolate.

I haven't seen these Cakesters, but what hits the spot for me are mini chocolate covered chocolate swiss rolls made by one of our more high end supermarkets and also Galaxy chocolate.  For some reason it is the one time on the month when I don't prefer the high cocoa content good chocolate.

Oh man, I stay away from the chocolate now,but I admit I still crave it, but not as much as I used to pre-workout :-) But, should I partake...chocolate orange or mint chocolate is my bag.

Those Oreo Cakesters are addictive!

My cravings vary. Last time, all I wanted was a steak. The time before, I wanted Double Stuffed Oreos. When I was pregnant, it was fountain Coke, and anything orange flavored. I remember I had a craving for Orange Julius so bad...and I hate orange flavored things!

I like any kind of chocolate ice cream with chocolate in it and chocolate on it.  Then as a side chocolate cheesecake with chocolate frosting and Dr Pepper.

i just saw some Food Network show with Giada over the weekend. she had this Nutella crepe with fresh strawberries on the inside. I've never had that Nutella stuff, but any chocolate/raspberry or chocolate/strawberry combo is the heighth of perfection.

oh yeah, the salt after the sweet is a good one.

saw a new commercial last night .. a jar of peanut butter and chocolate bunny .. kissing.

then i guess they ate each other cause it was a Reece's bunny after they melded together   :-)

a different show on Food Network last night showed a carmel apple at some five star hotel in New York. each chef has to put his own spin on it, so this new guy cut out the inside of the apple, filled it with that Nutella stuff, put cut out piece back in then dipped the whole thing in carmel.

sprinkled nuts on it.. then drizzled it with two different kinds of chocolate THEN put gold leaf on it.

*ahhhh*

That sounds delicious, but I'd be worried about the calories in the gold leaf.  :-)

I've never eaten it, I wonder if it gives you that static feeling you get when you accidentally bite on some tin foil.

I want one, and I don't even usually like apples that much.

Chocolate covered pretzels rock my world. It's sweet and salty in one!

:rotf:   I think the others are taking notes on what to give their wives/girlfriends when they're PMS'ing.    :innocent:
