TYLER, Texas – Eight Texas churches barely 150 miles apart have caught fire since New Year's Day, putting pastors and congregations on edge and on guard wondering whether theirs is next.

Authorities determined seven of those fires were intentionally set and they are investigating one that broke out Thursday as a possible arson. There have been no reported injuries or arrests, and federal officials aren't saying whether there's a connection.

Most people in these parts can't help but think they are.

"I think everybody is expecting more of these, to tell you the truth," said pastor David Mahfood, whose Baptist church in Tyler was destroyed in a Jan. 16 fire. "I think the worst is probably behind Tyler, but I'd worry about other cities."

4. I say burn them all down
 in all 50 states.

Religion is for those too weak minded to think for themselves.

1. Sounds somebody's cleaning up Texas the William Tecumseh Sherman way
A good idea, but I don't like the means of executing it though.

Damn, I wish there was a way to make him say this to those folks' faces.

Heh...yoink...

I wonder how he reconciles his existence with his beliefs?  :mental:

Disgusting, repugnant, controll freaks and mix in a little EVIL.

I would not want to see even that nasty mans church, Phelps, to be burned

You know I see an up side to abortion, [ never thought I would ever say this ]

Whats the matter with these church burners, are they hoping to make the Christians think it was the work of Muslims.?

Question, were these black churches or mixed comunity.?

Can't you just feel the love?

Wonder what this "compassionate" person would say if the churches were in Haiti.

Seems to me their attitude was a little bit different back when Bushco was burning down all the black churches.

Most of my family lives either in OK or TX. Every church down there I have been to with them are mixed. 'Probly about 60/40 white/black.

ETA: ( but of course, we're the racists! )

A Black man sang at my Dad's funeral. He was one of his best friends! One of the finest baritones I have ever heard!

That was my point. How does he reconcile his pathetically weakest of the weak life at DU with his hatred for....well himself? These are people who have taken DU to a religion of it's own. Skinners Church of the Herd. Pass the quarterly Collection Plate and praise the Democrat.

My Spidey Sense tells me that there would be howling and screaming if these burnings were mosques.

Maybe the arsonist will get around to burning a few abortion clinics eventually?

You know, a little balance.

Yeah, if so much as a burnt match shows up within a 20 mile vicinity of one of those clinics . . . my God, the outrageous outrage that would explode over there!  Hypocrites, all of 'em  :bird:

I'm willing to put that one to the test.  You know see if they'll howl, and when they do, how loud we can get them...
