Why Obama can't be an "asshole" Updated at 4:23 PM
I'm sure that most of us liberals would love Obama to push through a liberal agenda and tell the DLC, Blue Dogs, and Republicans to go **** themselves-basically the modern day equivalent of FDR. Hell, I know I would.
But what is the difference between FDR's time and the modern era?
The media.
Many (most?) Americans are thoroughly brainwashed by the corporate media in this nation, and it above all opposes any sorts of reform that would reduce its influence. The media corporations have more lobbyists than Big Oil in Washington-far more.
Furthermore, they WILL come after and destroy the reputation of anyone who tries to stand up to them.
It wasn't like that so much in FDR's time. In the era of the newspaper and of unions, people and workers had more say in the matter.
But not anymore. This country is in a horrible place, and Obama is trying to salvage what he can.
That's just my opinion, feel free to disagree.
The DUmp is so boring once again. They all must be out buying meds. First week of the month.

I guess they missed the civics class that explained laws are proposed and passed by a representative, elected Congress who have to explain their votes to a local constituency.
They are just plain stupid.

No, there's nothing "plain" about that level of stupid.

Most of them never got past the fifth grade, when such things are taught.
