2-3-1959 Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper were all killed in an airplane crash in Clear Lake, Iowa.

Two of them were Texans......... :(
All of them were good entertainers.

No school today....got about 4-5 inches of snow.
Therefore, nothing planned for today, other than getting some laundry done.
-
They made quite a bigger deal about this last year on the 50th anniversary of the crash.
We're getting a respite from snow for a couple of days, highs in the upper 20's today and near 40 tomorrow.

Chilly and rain, with a forecast of more chilly and more rain, going into cold, with no rain. I think I forgot what the sun looked like.

It's kinda big and yellow-ish. Bright too, so don't stare at it.

Well, I had a fun four days off, even though I was stuck inside for most of the time (damn ice). Got new phones at work. They suck. There's no "unavailable" button -- if a call comes through, I gots to take it. Rented a batch of movies from the nearest Redbox.
District 9 - Lots of action, good special effects. A little shallow on character development, though.
The Invention of Lying - Okay; not really Ricky Gervais' best. It had its moments, some other times it fell flat.
Whatever the newest Harry Potter movie is on DVD now... I'd pork Ginny Weasley. She's hawt. Fun movie, as usual.
Terminator Salvation was okay. Dialog was not a high point of this movie, Three stars.

Mid-20's and flurries today. Cold as shit the rest of the week. Getting cabin fever for Vegas.

It's sunny and cool today. Getting ready to go to my youngest daughter's school to help her teacher. I do this every wednesday.
I just went on my older daughter's FB and found this quote posted by her:
"With regard to the freedom of the individual for choice with regard to abortion, there's one individual who's not being considered at all. That's the one who is being aborted. And I've noticed that everybody that is for abortion has already been born." - Ronald Reagan
My kids are going to turn out just fine. :)

A Myelogram (also known as myelography) is a diagnostic tool that uses radiographic contrast media (dye) that is injected into the spinal canal’s fluid (cerebrospinal fluid, CSF). After the dye is injected, the contrast dye serves to illuminate the spinal canal, cord, and nerve roots during imaging.
YIKES.....I have had contrast injected for many tests but NEVER in the spinal canal. I hope they knock you out for it. :(

uggghhh... I had something similar as a test to see if my shunt drain was blocked. Awful, awful, awful. Might as well poke a finger in your eye and keep it there.
:bawl:

Had one of those a number of years ago, and although the actual procedure isn't too bad, when they tell you to lay flat on your back for several hours afterwards.....do it.......a "spinal headache" is a bitch!!

It is my youngest birthday today and she has been up all night with a nasty stomach bug. She doesn't even want her birthday cake so I know she is really sick.

Thor.....
The sun is out!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: However, the rain's coming in tomorrow for the next several days.
Have a mini-food job for Friday.....100 sweet treats, table flowers, napkins, deliver. It's the first one that I'm getting paid for :-). Doing mini-size - carrot cake w/ cream cheese frosting and brownie cupcakes, and blueberry muffins w/ lemon glaze. Probably not charging enough, and I'm sure there's a formula for charging, but I didn't want to haggle.

I'm more concerned as there isn't much room for dye. My myelin sheath, where I'm told the spinal fluid is, doesn't seem to exist in my neck or lower spine. I get to have several injections and I read that they only use a local anaesthetic. :o I'm not sure that I'm looking forward to this.

I have no idea if they are still doing it the same way, but when I had mine, they removed about 50 cc's of spinal fluid first to make room for the dye (otherwise they risk increasing your cerebrospinal pressure).......then they inject the dye.......do the test, and then remove the dye (by tilting the table back and forth, using your body like a "spirit level".......then replace the fluid.
Since the entire procedure is done with one puncture, you won't really know where they are in the process, unless the surgeon is telling you while he works.......
However, mine was a while ago, and I'm certain that advances have been made......it wasn't too bad, except for the headache......
