PHOENIX -- A 30-year-old man has pleaded guilty to kidnapping and raping two young girls the day he was released from prison.
It happened on Aug. 6, 2009. Salvador Medina forced his way into a car and kidnapped two 15-year-old girls and an 11-year-old girl. He forced them to drive to another location, holding them hostage for four hours.
During that time, he raped the two older girls. Later that same day, he robbed a woman by threatening to hurt her 3-year-old child. Phoenix Police arrested him and Medina confessed.
Medina had just been released from prison and was on parole. He cut off his ankle monitoring device after his release.
Medina had served four years in prison for sexual abuse/dangerous crimes against children.
Medina pleaded guilty to 3 counts of sexual assault, 2 counts of attempted sexual assault, kidnapping, armed robbery, and attempted kidnapping.
Medina is expected to be handed a 45-year prison sentence, plus lifetime probation. His sentencing is March 4.

What's wrong is that our offender had the capacity to get it up a second time after already having been jailed for sex crimes against children. 4 years isn't rehab, 4 years is pent-up fantasy time. He should not have been released while his dick could function. You either take his drive away or let it expire the natural way, old age.

I've heard stories where very old men are released from prison after serving for child molestation/rape, and even though their "equipment" didn't work, they used other things to abuse children. I've heard of it happening after so called chemical castration as well.
I believe that capital punishment is the appropriate response, or at the very minimum, life in prison.

Well a nice lobotomy would work in that case. Disconnect both organs if need be. If that doesn't work then kill them in a very messy public fashion.

It appears this Dude, Ala Charles Manson wants the Prison life style and will do what ever he can to stay in the place he called home.
I have heard the comparisons between Prison and the Military, some men and woman feel safe and cared for being in either one.
Long time 10-20 year veterans of the life style of either gain friendships, and family's in both cases. When they leave that behind for a world that is changed after all that time, some people just cannot cope with the life style of fending for themselves.
I have known quite a few men that left the military after 8-10 years only to go back in 6 months later. This is their life, the one they are comfortable living.
Some monsters are that way about Prison, they fantasize about the outside but it does not take but a few months for them to do something stupid and get to go home to the life they are comfortable in.
Somehow we need to reverse this situation, make service in the military more comfortable for our warriors and really suck for those in Prison.
The age old question remains----What do we do with a drunken sailor.?

How can we tell when a monster is released that they can function in the outside world.?
Heck they have had years of having their food cooked for them, laundry done, living in a dry, clean very small apartment, TV Radio, Books. They get to see family and friends once a week and even get a weekend now and then to bring in wife, girlfriend/boyfriend for conjugal visits. Free doctors, dentists, visits of good men trying to save their soul. They get to watch movies and live shows to boost their moral.
As Charlie Manson says " he can get more drugs and sex in Prison then out on the street.

Vesta, I didn't read past that comment, because it almost sounds like you are trying to justify what this sick **** did. If he wanted to go back to prison, all he had to do was walk up and punch some cop in the face, then during his trial attack the judge. He would have been back in real quick.

Not just no ---But HELL no.
There are hundreds of thousands of such people walking our streets every bit as bad as this monster and I for one want to know what makes them tick.
I want to know how people can go through life living a normal life and have a monster living in them.

Very few ex-cons "do something stupid" so they can go home "to the life they are comfortable in." They're mean, ignorant f*ck-ups who got meaner and dumber inside.

No Alpha, I have only known those, men and woman that have to work day after day around these criminals.
Yes I do know a few people that have done time, they were the lucky ones that had their family waiting for them, they had housing, food and a job waiting and managed to turn themselves around to become productive to society.
Girlfriend worked for Corrections for years, County Lock up, darn strongest and bravest woman I have yet to meet. Just a little thing about 5' 4 120 lbs and only her sense of humor saved her sanity.
She is the one that pointed out to me the fact that the same people kept coming back year after year. She pointed out that the street lingo was anyone in jail for 12 months was considered to be on VACATION for that year.
For me listening to her storeys of her job, beefing against the other officers, the drug trade inside the walls, the corruption of the places she worked as an internal guard, the bad and the good that by fate ended up under her watch, fascinating to hear first hand accounts of life on the other side.
She worked over 20 years in correctional facilities then moved on and worked in social services in a big city. Big mistake for her, at no time had she working with, escorting prisoners or other duties been harmed.
Less then a year in social work she had 3 ribs broken, As she says she had been knocked down 50 times but thank the Lord never knocked up.
You are correct Alpha I have never been inside a Prison or a Jail, only time I have been in a police station was to ask direction in someone Else's town.
I have to remember her storeys as she is a she and was not a male trying to impress me.
Primal conditions, what dirt floors, slop once a day for food, a bucket to poop in, sleep on the floor, no visitors, no Pastor, no heat or cooling, no showers, no clean clothing, rats running through the cell day and night, no mail, no TV no RADIO, no books, no education for anyone, no GED or college classes. No law libraries to search to find a reason to appeal, no medical or dental care.
When you find a prison like this in America give me a shout, we the people will close that sucker down in a heart beat.

I didn't say conditions are primal, I said the people are. County lock up is kindergarten. I know quite a few prison guards and I know several people who were incarcerated. The stories are different on the other side of the bars.

I think Saddam had one thing right when he fed them into wood chippers. If we want to use 'em, and comply with the "no cruel or unusual punishment" clause of the constitution, we should empty our death row's into wood chippers. Face first if we don't want 'em to suffer.

I watched a very unsettling news clip of 2 men being flogged for some crime in the middle east.
I don't know what the crime was but it must have been a doozie.
Brings to mind the American young kid in Singapore that was arrested for some minor vandalism and sentenced to be flogged. What an uproar that caused, even his father offered to take his place.
Turned out through diplomatic channels the boy was to be flogged twice, it was said to have been done and the boy came home.
Problem was some of his friends said there were no marks on his back and the kid went on to break the law here back in America.
Question here, had the flogging taken place as was decried by the courts, would that kid have come home all cocky or have smartened up.?
