They got me locked up again for a few days for cardiac evaluation. Lots of peeing in bottles and getting poked with needles. I don't really feel all that bad, but whatever. I have free wifi in the room, so at least I'm not completely incommunicado. Good thing I thought to bring my laptop.
-
Hey bud, you take care and get out of their clutches post haste, eh?
-
Whoa, let's hope they find the pass key muy pronto!
-
Do you have a way to get home this time?
Smart move, bringing the laptop.
Don't get too comfy though.
-
Hope they spring you soon!
-
Have you got your escape plans made yet?
Seriously, sending prayers and keep in touch ok?
-
Hey, that wasn't you on the sled with the home-made rocket booster, was it?
:uhsure:
-
Good luck & get well, Crockspot.
-
Yep, my truck is in the parking lot, I insisted on driving myself this time. I guess if I get tired of all this foolishment, I can just get dressed and sneak out.
-
Behave yourself or they will give you the Michael Jackson Juice (and I don't mean wine in a Coke can either).
:o
-
Get well soon!
Wait, you're not in for chemo, are you? :evillaugh:
-
Get well soon, man.
-
Wow, I hope everything turns out ok. What was going on that made you go to the hospital?
-
Speaking of hospitals....why do they say "she is IN hospital" in the UK and we say "she is in THE hospital" here in the US?!?!?

For the same reason folks in Minnesota ask "can I go with.......", instead of "can I go with YOU".....local colloquialism....
Get better Crock.....

It isn't only people in MN who ask ...."want to go with?".....
I think it's a midwestern thing. :-)

do you go on Holiday?
...whilst your neighbor lies in Hospital?
FIFY

And did you have to queue up to get your room?

Well.....it just doesn't get more "midwest" than here where I live, and it isn't heard here.......perhaps "north central"...would be better.
doc
-
And did you have to queue up to get your room?
But of course. Socialized medicine, as you know, demands that we make sacrifices.
Even still, I'm paying 120 quid per day for this little piece of heaven.

There's a similar turn of phrase in NY from the Yiddish, which is kind of a blend of Low German with some Hebraic vocabulary thrown in the linguistic mixmaster with it. The Midwestern dialect has a lot of such Germanisms salted in it, which is understandable considering the large Germanic-language element in Midwestern settlement. Likewise, Midwesterners might say "Wait up!" or "Wait on me!" (From "Warte auf!" or "Warte auf mich!") instead of "Wait for me!"

Hope all goes well, Crock.

Hope ya get all good news and get out soon.

They juiced me up with radioactive stuff for one last scan tomorrow, but it appears that I'm looking at at least a triple bypass, if not a quad. Apparently what I thought was a touch of pneumonia last fall was a mild heart attack, and it kinda snowballed from there. I actually feel better now than I have in a couple of months, now that they got all the fluids out of me. (Well, after the cardiologist informed me of the blockages today, I felt like crap for several hours...) But they are going to let me go home in the next day or two to make arrangements and get prepared for surgery.
All that hard livin' and doctor avoidin' has finally caught up with me. Moving far away from family and friends, and shunning most humans has complicated it a bit too.

It doesn't sound like it, but by the time the hospital is done pillaging his wallet, he may be living homeless with Bobo.

Sorry to hear about it Crock. My dad had a tripple bypass about 3 1/2 years ago after going in for a test to see if he had the same gene marker as I do (HLA B27). My doctor said I got it from either my dad or mom and that both of them should be tested. Next thing you know he was in the hospital getting a tripple bypass. He had no idea what was wrong with his heart.
He didn't even notice how crappy he was feeling until after he had the bypass and then realized how much better he felt. I guess in a way, me being sick saved my dad's life. :-)
-
Crock, don't worry about the catheter. It hurts only when you pee. :-)
Seriously, best wishes and a complete recovery. :cheersmate:
-
Gah, they imagined a few more tests that they can bill me for, so I'm still here another day. Hopefully go home tomorrow some time (friday). Still haven't been given a date for surgery, but is will be soon, probably next week. Thanks for all the well wishes, it does mean a lot.
-
Hang tight man. Hang tight.
