Title: IPCC Glacier Report Source:
Post by: SSG Snuggle Bunny on January 31, 2010, 11:59:51 AM
...some mountain climbers and a kid researching for his masters:

Quote
In [the IPCCs] most recent report, it stated that observed reductions in mountain ice in the Andes, Alps and Africa was being caused by global warming, citing two papers as the source of the information.

However, it can be revealed that one of the sources quoted was a feature article published in a popular magazine for climbers which was based on anecdotal evidence from mountaineers about the changes they were witnessing on the mountainsides around them.

The other was a dissertation written by a geography student, studying for the equivalent of a master's degree, at the University of Berne in Switzerland that quoted interviews with mountain guides in the Alps.

The revelations, uncovered by The Sunday Telegraph, have raised fresh questions about the quality of the information contained in the report, which was published in 2007.

Not even a climatologist but a geography student no less.

So if we look at the IPCC and deduct the parts we know to be manipulated/fraudulent: temp data, hockey sticks, Himalayas, polar bears, arctic ice sheets and glaciers...

...what's left that we should be so scared about?

Of course, TNO will be here momentarily, bitching that it wasn't "peer reviewed"...

Peer review no longer matters to him.

A report can be phonier than a Clinton marriage but TNO's new dismissal is: as long as no one has been formerly convicted in a court of law we shall bow before it.
