Earth to Washington--Half of us aren't eligible for non refundable tax credits because of low income

Thought I would be getting a $800 energy credit. Turns out "making work pay" provision turned it into $68 by lowering tax liability. The IRS takes money out of one pocket and puts it in the other.

The DUmmy is pissed because instead of getting 800 "free" dollars his taxes were reduced by 732.00.  :rotf: :rotf:

5. It did help you
It reduced your tax liability. That's money in your pocket.

Earth to DUmmy--you are an idiot.

8. Yes it did. Now, go hire a tax lawyer to complete your return and it's all yours.

Maybe you can get one that will do your return for 800.00,then you will be even.

2. I just found out the same result, as I added my roof material cost..
into my tax program. Funny, how they didn't mention how that would work when we bought these products. They should have been a deduction, instead of being a credit.

I`M NOT GETTING FREEEE MONEY!!!!!  (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v204/carlr/tantrum.gif)

7. It appears it is one or the other and not both. Rip off.
How many people invested in energy saving investments thinking they would get part of the cost back on top of the tax cut and they don't.

Rip off.

I have no words to describe how stupid you are.

Thankfully, I saw it coming and didn't pre-spend my refund at Rent-A-Center like the DUmmies did.
