How long can I freeze liver?
I was given some liver from a farmer, packaged from a cow they had slaughtered.
It is dated 2008. It is FROZEN SOLID as a rock (as they must flash freeze the meat).
Is it safe to eat now? This is probably a stupid question, but I found it in the
back of the freezer, and would really like to know if it is safe.
I suppose I should just thaw it and check it out...Any advise would be appreciated,I
don't want to croak from something that should be helpful for Vitamin B. I can purchase a small package from the meat market that I can assume is safe.

1. If it's been frozen, it's safe to eat
The only question may be the taste. Meat in the freezer doesn't spoil. when you see meat with freezer burn it's not spoiled-you just made freezer dried jerky. Meat like that I use in stew or chili or something else with lots of liquid to reconstitute the dried parts.

3. It's generally easier to just freeze the vodka.

It is amazing the things that all of us somehow just know they are completely ignorant of.
Unless stupid Beth was trying to make some bizarre joke about alcohols affect on the liver I would say she was hitting the vodka pretty hard.
For the record I keep booze in the freezer..it seems to make it a little thicker and smoother tasting.

When I was a young cavalryman in El Paso, I used to keep a liter of Finlandia vodka in the freezer as well. Had to change it a fair amount, too--kept running out. Thing is, I was the one draining it. The signs of my alcoholism that I missed waaaay back when . . .
Neighbor, as long as you don't have to keep replacing the booze (like I did), it should work out.

Nothing better on a cold day than a dummie's liver chili.

I wouldn't be eating anything made out of a DUmb****'s liver. :puke:
ETA: Yeah, I know. I wouldn't be eating a DUmb****'s chili made with liver, either.

Try it, with some fava beans and chianti.

It didn't. It just made it taste better to me.

It doesn't but when real cold it's delicious(and I don't like vodka.) Can't explain it. Great for after dinner sipping.

I switched to using 5 liter bottles.
Only gotta fill em up from the drum once a week...
