The new Public Policy Institute of California poll was released today, and when it comes to the U.S. Senate race, there are two obvious take-aways:

    * Tom Campbell made the right decision by switching from the governor's race to the U.S. Senate contest.
       
    * Incumbent Barbara Boxer is vulnerable, and getting more so with the passage of time.

After nearly 18 years as one of California's U.S. Senators -- Dear Lord, has it been that long? -- Boxer hasn't worn well. Her approval/disapproval ratings are 490% to 44% -- not exactly Harry Reid territory, but too close for Boxer's comfort.
