NEW YORK (CBS) ― President Barack Obama plans to use his state of the union address to "reconnect" with the middle class.
Some say it's an open admission to many here in the tri-state area that he has failed to feel our pain and our needs.
From his war on the banks -- the lifeblood of the metropolitan area economy -- to his health care reform which could cost taxpayers here over $1 billion, President Obama's policies have sent a strong message to the tri-state area that Washington doesn't care about the middle class.
Suddenly, he claims he wants to change that.
"The middle class feels beleaguered, and I think the message of Massachusetts, which I believe the president is now heeding, was pay attention to our plight. We're not as worried about changing the health care system as we are about getting by week to week," Sen. Charles Schumer said.
Oh, I love this!   :fuelfire: :fuelfire: :fuelfire:
Schmucky is starting to feel the heat. From having his "junior," Kirsten Gillibrand, called Schumer's "parakeet" by Harold Ford, to maybe fielding a well-known and well-financed challenger in Larry Kudlow, who was an economist in President Reagan's administration (there's a "Draft Kudlow" movement starting), to championing the health-care "reform" that would take $1 billion out of the economy of New York City (according to Mayor Mike Bloomberg), things aren't going well for Schmucky.

I am glad to see that people are waking up and seeing the truth about him

Okay, forgive my utter idiocy, but I don't know everything.
To which three states does "tri-staters" refer?
That's a term I've never seen before.
-
New York, New Jersey, and CT.
I have a dream.....a dream where Schmuck is packing his office things in boxes, like any other poor pathetic fired employee. Brushing away the tears, feeling so low, wondering where he went wrong. "Could have been all those emails you had me delete" says a staffer, now packing his things as well. "Could have been all those letters you tossed in the trash with a snort" says another.
I signed up for the Kudlow draft. Reaganomics, baby.

"Could be all that money the NRA raised for your opponent," says another . . .

It is also often used to describe Illinois, Wisconsin & Indiana. But that's just flyover country. :-)

It's as common, and describes at least as many entirely different places, as 'Springfield.'

I suppose that is true. Anywhere that three states are closely connected probably call themselves the "Tri-State Area". Sorry. :thatsright:

But, in the above-linked article, Karin is dead on.

I realized that, but was making another point. Carry on.

There's a "new" Obama? What happened to the old one?
Oh. He's still here.
