note from franksolich: this is a year old, and no new comments, but franksolich noticed a lot of lurking primitives were reading it, and so decided to bring it to the forefront. Carry on.

White Extremist "(CNN) -- A man was arrested Monday after police found an arsenal of high-powered weapons and a map of a U.S. military base in his New Jersey hotel, authorities said. Lloyd R. Woodson, 43, was arrested and faces multiple weapons charges"
"During the struggle, officers noticed that Woodson was wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying an assault rifle in his coat.
Officers searched Woodson's hotel room and found another assault rifle, a grenade launcher, a police scanner, another bulletproof vest, a map of a U.S. military base, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and a Middle Eastern-style headdress"

15. What the blue **** does the expired "AW" ban have to do with this story?

3. Where does it say this guy's a white supremacist?
I seem to have missed that in the article.
Aside from that, it's the usual sensationalistic bullshit. The guy probably had semi-auto-only variants of assault rifles, not actual assault rifles (which are capable of automatic fire and thus covered under the NFA of 1934); there's no such thing as a "high-powered assault rifle"; three weapons is hardly an "arsenal"; and heaven only knows what the "grenade launcher" actually is (could be a flare gun, given the author's evident lack of knowledge about firearms).
Oh YEAH! Hey, did anyone check...

16. A few questions and comments...
Edited on Tue Jan-26-10 09:41 AM by slackmaster
1. Neither "an arsenal of high-powered weapons" nor "a map of a U.S. military base" are necessarily illegal to have. Were any of the weapons in violation of any state or federal law?
2. Possession of a bullet-proof vest is not illegal.
3. Possession of an "assault rifle" is not necessarily illegal. Was it a real, selective-fire weapon and not registered as required by the National Firearms Act? Was it in violation of the state of New Jersey's restrictions on "assault weapons"? Or was it just a rifle and not illegal at all?
4. Possession of a police scanner is not illegal.
5. Possession of ammunition is not illegal.
6. Possession of a ME-style headdress is not illegal unless you are in France.
7. Carrying a rifle in your coat is not illegal in a hotel room.
8. I wonder if MichaelHarris actually looked at the linked article before writing his subject line.
9. Was the "grenade launcher" really a restricted weapon, or was it the far more common and perfectly legal 37 mm flare launcher (legal in all 50 states)?
So, I want to know what this guy was arrested for? Being black?
WTF? Where was the sarcasm tag for that post?
-
He is probably a Muslim convert. Not changing the name to Mujaskyhook Mohammad BlahBlah was a tactic, they consider it undercover I am sure.

WTF? Where was the sarcasm tag for that post?
LOL!!! what a maroon. The guy had grenades or something too.

Charles is SO funny! If I lived in the same town, I'd become a Lutheran just so I could hear his sermons on Sunday.

OMG. Absofreakinglutely hysterical. That thread! :rotf:

LOL!!! what a maroon. The guy had grenades or something too.
Actually ol' slackmaster hit on a lot of the key holes in this story, other than not quite getting that the guy actually had one of the rifles on him in the C-store, and not knowing the intricacies of NJ's numerous and harsh gun laws. The guy is in deep doo-doo as far NJ laws are concerned, it isn't clear he has necessarily violated any Federal gun law though.
I looked at the source story from the post on it in our own LBN (Where I posted a lot of the same issues and some info on NJ gun laws), I don't remember seeing anything about him having grenades. It only talked about the so-called grenade launcher, which appears to really be a 37mm flare launcher. Of course the fact that nobody makes 37mm grenades (Just various flares, tear gas shells, baton/beanbag rounds and such) won't keep NJ from charging him with possession of a grenade launcher, as long as it looks more or less like one.

22. Black man with a gun in NJ..
Edited on Tue Jan-26-10 10:11 AM by X_Digger
.. where hollow point ammunition is illegal for self-defense (seriously, not making that up).
"N.J.S.A 2C:39-3f(1) limits the possession of hollow nose ammunition. However, there is a general exception
that allows for the purchase of this ammunition but restricts the possession of it to specified locations.
<snip>
1.A member of a rifle or pistol club organized under rules of the National Board for the Promotion of Rifle
Practice and which filed its charter with the State Police;
2.A person engaged in hunting or target practice with a firearm legal for hunting in this State;
3.A person going directly to a target range, and;
4.A person going directly to an authorized place for "practice, match, target, trap or skeet shooting
exhibitions.""
It would be one hell of a trap or skeet shooting exhibition. Also kinda dangerous, slinging rifle bullets up into the stratosphere. New Jersey must be home to superhuman marksmen. More evidence that firearms regulations are written and passed by legislatures full of morons.

"Bump" a year after this had been posted, as there seems to be a lot of lurking interest in it.
And by the way, both the "is Patrick Kennedy gay?" poll and the saga of the police photographer Carlos down over there in Florida seem to be rekindling interest too.
Some threads never die.

Lloyd R. Woodson, 43, was arrested and faces multiple weapons charges
It was hilarious that the DUmbasses figured he was white, since he wasn't named JuJuan, DaQuan, Barack, or D'T'Shizzle, he must be white. DUmmies fail to realize that 43 years ago black people hadn't yet been totally destroyed and self-excluded from society by democrat socialism. They still gave their kids normal American names likd Lloyd 43 years ago, unless they were muslims. Or Kenyans.

Remember how hurt they were when they realized Randi Rhodes was NOT attacked by Blackwater mercenaries personally dispatched by Cheney but only drunk?
I don't think they've ever been so hurt by someone NOT being hurt...except Rep Giffords.
