Post by: Odin's Hand on January 25, 2010, 07:02:54 PM
I think I'll take the Saints.

It's really hard to choose.  One of the first times I remember the right teams made it to the Superbowl.  In the Alternate Universe, however, I take the Jets over the Vikings by 14.

Experience over the Cinderella story.  Colts by 5.

Yeah, I I'll get off the fence.  Colts have an edge.

I have no choice.  I vote for the Saints.  I will do my best to refrain from unnecessary praying game day.  I know it is just a game, and hells bells, we just won our first championship, but man o man, would that be awesome or what????

It really is too close to call so who knows, it could happen.

I am going to cling to that comment as hope.  Being a Saints fan all these years, well, it ain't been easy.

tsk, tsk....don't get your hopes up Deb....

It was great to see the Saints win yesterday, they played darn hard to get it.  :cheersmate:

But they aren't going to beat the Colts.  :-)

I am so sorry for you. I just hear on Rush's show that Obama has picked the Saints.  They might as well not even hold the Super Bowl and declare the Colts the winner.

I could have been happy living and never heard that.

I don't know, I'd rather know ahead of time, like in 2007 when I saw the Giants improving as the year went on and Brett Favre was on the cover of SI and I knew of the SI curse, it made the loss less painful.

I know it is a long shot.  Either way we still did better than we have done before.

However...........Obama picked Pittsburgh last year.   :uhsure:

Since I don't get to watch McNabb puke his Chunky Soup in another Superbowl, I'm just happy to be able to watch what should be a really good game!  I think it'll be a high-scoring but close one!

I read somewhere that Republicans favor the Colts, while Democrats favor the Saints.

Which puts me in a quandary.

When I have no dog in a fight, I go for the one with the most history and tradition.

And so I want the Saints to win.

Indianapolis?  Indianapolis?

Indianapolis with a professional football team?

You've got to be kidding.

Indianapolis?

Several of the Fox shows have said the same.

I don't favor Peyton because of Indianapolis.....I favor Indianapolis because of Peyton.

If Peyton was playing for the Cowboys...I would be a Cowboy fan (even though I haven't been since Jones replaced Jimmy Johnson with that slimeball Barry Switzer)....I'm just a Peyton fan.  :-)

I'm cheering for the Colts, but really I just want to win the Superbowl pool at work.  Unfortunately, I got some really bad numbers this year.

Where on earth did you hear that, Frank?  (Regarding Rep's rooting for Indy & Dems for NO?

It's been almost 30 years since the Mayflower trucks moved the Baltimore Colts into Indy.  Iianapolis/Baltimore has a tremendous history.

I had a prof in college that all one had to do is to say, "Irsay!"  And she would bristle.  She taught a public speaking course.  It soon became very apparent that if one wanted to do well in the course, a speech would have to have a line about the evil present in moving the Colts to Indy.  (She had a sense of humor about it, too.)

My husband has the same reaction if anyone mentions the name "Art Modell".

I wondered if he was when I saw his last name was Starkey....

As much as I wanted Peyton to win another Super Bowl.....I'm happy for the Saints.

They played a great game.

I intend to make a road trip this spring with the intent to piss on that cocksucker, irsay's grave.
