1. The problem is that most people don't know what those terms really mean.
Details are not for most people.
The problem is that "liberal" has become a dirty word, which is why they are trying to call themselves progressive now.

14. exactly. ask them about policies and the picture would be different.
Yeah, the percentages would be higher favoring conservatives.

2. That can't be true. Democrats are an overwhelming majority. Even adding all the moderates to
liberal, whihc is really what modertae is, I still dont believe we have 40% conservative. How many people were polled, and what sort of cross section?
Keep dreaming sunshine. :mental:

21. Of course it's not
though that won't keep people (especially Republicans, Fox "news" and hate radio hosts from trying to use nonsense like this to promote their destructive agenda.
Let's see- numbers on the public option repeatedly came in at +70% (and then some).
Sound "conservative" to you?
What label people choose to self identify to a telephone pollster with often has little to do with how they objectively score on a whole range of issues.
Um, right. The OP linked to the Gallup poll. Gotta link to support your claim? Didn't think so.

3. Another reality check for those who think this is a center left country
The US has been solidly center right since the late 60s.

24. Many who would be considered "Liberal" when questioned on the issues self ID as conservative
Edited on Sun Jan-24-10 08:30 PM by NorthCarolina
because (a) Liberalism has been demonized by the right and the MSM, and (b) there is confusion over the labels Liberal vs Conservative. In no way do I believe that this is a center-right nation. I believe that it may identify as a center-right, but that is due to (a) and (b) above.
on edit :typo
Sorry, I don't speak DUmmie.

Denial is just not a river in Egypt. I got into an argument with some lib on my local paper's website. This idiot said the poll was unreliable and then posted a bunch of liberal websites refuting the data.
Liberals just cannot understand or accept that they are a minority.

Only if you're talking about in opposition, DUmbass. Credible polls (I know you don't know what those are, but stick with me) put support in the mid 30s or so. Polls from HuffPuff and the Kossacks don't count.

If you go over, you'll notice Depakid howling especially loudly, and attempting to be smart, like a sociology major. He is an asshat. These fools can whistle past the graveyard all they want. That's right, get nice and complacent, cozy, and convinced that everyone thinks like you do.
Uh oh.:

59. No, but I have noticed
that it's consistant with several other polls I've seen. Empassioned people always think they are the majority because they tend to only associate with those of like mind because they detest those who don't share their views. Passion does that. Hence "everybody believes what I believe". Not.
I thought this one was funny:

53. On the raising taxes issue it depends entirely how the question is asked. The American people are for increased taxes if it could give them something tangible-like universal single payer health care.

I keep seeing the left refer to these mysterious polls which show majority support for ObamaCare and the "public option", but the only polls I ever see actually posted (not by them) are the ones showing majority opposition. I haven't even seen a liberal post a trumped-up poll from some liberal website, polling only liberals, which shows majority support for ObamaCare. I'm sure there must be at least a couple of those, even though they don't prove anything, as against valid polls which always show majority opposition.

I thought this one was funny:
Let them remain complacent and keep lying to themselves, all the better to inflict more defeats on them as they just won't face the truth. When they continue to lose seats, let them keep shouting that most Americans are liberal (despite statistics to the contrary). It's frustrating that they won't admit the truth, but it works in our favor for them to be so willfully self-deceptive. Americans reject Big Government, no matter which side is serving it up.

Now here's an exact study in the way of DUmmies! How the hell this asshat can believe this is truly Star Trek material!
Sigmund could spend years trying to figure out this idiot!

BS...only if you suggest that it is a net gain for themselves and someone else gets skewered.
DUmp monkeys hate taxes that THEY will have to pay.

As shown in previous posts of theirs where they freak out when they find out they would actually have to pay for the "new and improved" healthcare.

No shirt! They thought they were goin' to get free stuff! When they found out they were actually going to have to pay their fair share, shit hit the fan!!!!!

Exactly. Let them continue in their delusion, especially regarding ObamaCare, they're going to get slaughtered at the polls if they do. I haven't seen one legitimate (ie, not from a moonbat site) poll showing anything except overwhelming opposition to ObamaCare, and neither have they, but as long as they ignore the real polls, they'll keep losing ground. Heck, even their supposed Boy Wonder pResident has lead the way by ignoring his poll numbers dropping faster than the Titanic, and continuing the charge. How can they be any smarter than Zero?

DUmmie "Realty Check": Any government check to them worth over a $1,000.00.

Isn't that the truth, Allo. This little snippet caught my eye, too. Let's see, we have psychotic willful self-deception, the wrapping up of oneself in superiority, if only in numbers, the childlike stamping of ones feet, and the atrocious spelling. Certainly one of Sunday's stupidest post of the day.
