Title: Newsweek: Brown's truck = racism
Post by: formerlurker on January 24, 2010, 05:03:33 AM
Quote
Howard Fineman, the increasingly loopy editor of the increasingly doomed Newsweek, took it a step further. The truck wasn’t just any old prop but a very particular kind: “In some places, there are codes, there are images,” he told MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann. “You know, there are pickup trucks, you could say there was a racial aspect to it one way or another.”

Ah, yes. Scott Brown has over 200,000 miles on his odometer. Man, he’s racked up a lot of coded racism on that rig. But that’s easy to do in notorious cross-burning KKK swamps like suburban Massachusetts.

Massachusetts of course being known for its racism.

Fineman appeared on Keithie's show without a baseball bat, literal or metaphoric. 'Nuff said.

Actually, I'd say I've seen more racism in Boston that I did in Atlanta.

Just sayin, FL.  But it's not coming from Brown or his truck.

truck ownership reflects occupation more than race. if race is at all reflected in truck ownership at all. they'll say just anything, no matter how preposterous, won't they?

I might be concerned about what this fish wrap was publishing, if both of NewsWeak's remaining "readers" - the term is best used very loosely here - weren't already knob-slobbering yes-men for the Obamessiah Reich.

NewsWeak is also on-board for the demonization of anyone who has money.

An odd editorial stance for a concern in dire need of people with money.

Not really, demonization of those who have money is always the necessary prelude to stealing it from them.

I agree this is a wayyyyyy reach.

People are out of their freaking minds, guess they could find racism in the meat department of a grocery.    I am a raciest because I choose to eat the breast of a chicken--white meat.?

I am NOT a raciest if I buy a black truck.?

Son tells interesting story about visiting Nassau on a cruise.   He had met and become friendly with a Lawyer from the Midwest.    As the two of them wandered about together they had 2 run ins.

First was when they stopped to look at a street vender's goods and found nothing they wished to buy.   The vend er became agitated and began to scream at them that they were racists.   They left the area quite smartly before the family charged out of their huts to beat them all up.

Second was when a very well fed woman and a brood of well fed kids chased them down and in their face told them she could not educate her children unless they both bought something from her.

The Lawyer was a smart Alick and told her he would buy her last born kid---how much did they want for her.        They then high tailed it back to the cruise ship and wondered what was at their next port of call.

It is getting harder to play the race card, with all the intermarriage and adoptions--
I have to step back, I have never met a Churchgoer black adopting a white child, I believe Mickie Jackson was the only black I have seen to somehow acquire white children.

Politically incorrect. :fuelfire: :fuelfire: :fuelfire:

Every day we see Caucasians with their children that are not of their race.  These kids are their children, what does a parent care about the color of the skin of their child or the type of hair.

Now look at the number of Black or Latinos that adopt a child of Swiss decent.  Nada, Zero, they would not as they say fit in.

The lady next door  [she is black] with no children, lots of money and a place in society.  Do you think she would adopt from Russia, would she adopt from China.?

Would she even give a thought to adopting a child that is the same from her except in looks.?

Racism is has gone beyond the pale, more and more white Americans are opening their doors to children regardless of something so stupid as the color of their skin.

What about the others, they are the race purity folk, they are the ones that are pushing for one race sovereignty.

Boy, times have changed! Back when I was a kid, Carib. Island Moms would advise their children to "Put a little cream in your coffee." . We thought it amusing.....(sigh) and we were supposedly more "prejudiced"......
